Hi NickA, I spend a big part of every month in Primrose hill....and the laid back musical vibe is always there, even in winter.....on the hill. In the village and certainly in the pubs.............the view of London skyline is indescribable, you just have to experience it for yourself... No queues, no entrance charges, no hassle ......

The cote brasseries are excellent.....did you know they are opening one in West Bridgford ?

The best attractions in London are free..........primrose hill, regents park canal, Camden market....Hampstead village ....all a tube ride away from st pancras station or take the 46 bus .......

BTW Mick, for evening entertainment, besides the myriad of bars and restaurants, the Live Lounge at the Hard days night hotel on North John street......a good vibe, some of Liverpool's finest musicians and naff Beatle memorabilia !!!!!!

The beauty of growing up as a child in Liverpool, were the days trips by ferry or by car through the Mersey tunnel, to New Brighton.....the amazing funfair, Harrington drive, the lido and the funny fort .......... Then like many seaside towns it became run down and no longer a place to visit ......not sure if Skegness was like that, as I have never been ?

If you are talking about the overhead railway in Liverpool Tomlinson, I can remember that ,as a child....it ran from the dingle past all the docks to Southport ? It was demolished a long time ago.....

Depends on what you want to see Mick.....the tourist stuff ie the Beatles, Albert dock, ferry , liver buildings are all well documented.... Try the cathedral area, the beautiful architecture of Rodney street, the philharmonic pub ( just to see the loos ), china town. The Tate gallery...... If you have the car, then calderstones park, allerton road, penny lane area.........

The toreador coffee bar had a huge round glass window........

Mr Tilling from Burtons came on a Tuesday eve to take mums order, then it was delivered on Friday, by van I think !!!! It was a prelude to internet shopping !!!!!!LOL I always remember he lived on Henrietta street and years later when I had a Saturday job at Fine Fare , he was the manager......
