  1. Cheeky bleeder, I spent some time in there, never saw anything wrong!
  2. Yes I managed to go and thought that they were brilliant. Loved the way they played the whole album in the first set and all the hits in the second set. For me 'Donna' was the highlight, hairs on the back of the neck and all that. A credit to all of them!
  3. Just bought their American albums on CD - another £150 up the swannee.
  4. Aup De DaPete - you've certainly got many interests! There was a band in the early 90's from Nottm called Blue Train, they made one album in the states called 'The Business of Dreams', then their record company went t*** up.
  5. 1. Melody Maker & New Musical Express 2. Saturday Morning at the Metropole 3. All those Bubble Gum packets with free cards like: Batman, American Civil war and The Beatles. Oh to be young!
  6. There is Brian at this site: http://www.british-history.ac.uk/mapsheet.aspx?sheetid=6457&compid=55132
  7. I remember them too, but didn't realise that you had to dice with death to get to them lol.
  8. Well that thread certainly ended on a cheery note.
  9. If it was out in about 1971 i'd say yes I remember it - a great little mag indeed - must've been somewhere around 5p to buy. A typical Saturday would be to buy this mag then go to Alberta on Hyson Green or Eddy's on Alfreton Rd to buy second hand (ex Juke-Box) records. On occasion I'd be able to buy new 45's from Rediffusion on Hyson Green - Them were the days!
  10. Believe it or not, I took it from Porchester Road whilst standing on the pavement leaning against a fence, pity it wasn't a very clear day. By the way Michael look at my gender below my avatar. lol
  11. I didn't really realise that there is so much greenery near to the city centre until I took this shot.
  12. Psst - don't tell anyone, but I find some Carpenters songs quite appealing.
  13. I don't know, my answer was maybe and I did state another type of gas of which hydrogen just happened to be the first gas that came into my head - if that explains it Stan.
  14. Maybe another type of gas i.e hydrogen!
  15. I don't think that style of bus would look out of place today.
  16. I remember going in on one occasion to look for 'Celtic Requiem' by John Tavener, he didn't have it. Can't remember what the shop was called tho'.
  17. Wretched place, a miserable existence from day one in 1967 to leaving in July 1972. Set me up for the rest of life - not!
  18. Great story that - a mate of mine had a YDS7 for about 2 years, thrashed it all over and never had any problems at all. Don't think anybody's mentioned Wheelcraft on Radford Road Hyson Green yet, I bought a 250G5 and RD200 from them.
  19. I worked for Vedonis on Bar Lane from 1974 to 1978 as a 'Fully Fashioned' knitter. They moved from that factory only to be replaced by 'Davenports Fashioned Knitwear' with whom I stayed until 1979.
  20. Never did try this place, is it still there?
  21. The pic is from the site 'http://www.britainfromabove.org.uk' One thing to notice is that the designers/architects of the day seem to have put a bit more effort into peoples quality of life (notice the near perfect line of symmetry going up the road just left centre) - more space, bigger gardens etc. not like today, cram it in, more proffitt, sod the neighbours etc.
