  1. Going to America next week, if I see any house's for sale/rent I might pretend I'm interested & see what sort of washer's they have, I'm easy to amuse, lol...
  2. I'm from the Meadows Plantfit so he must take after me, lol..
  3. Tabby-cat was sat on the footpath minding his own business, our Pix clocks him & attacks him & all hell breaks loose, there's howling, hissing & spitting. Our Pix is always the one that starts the trouble & I think "why us?" Shadow-cat (from next door) sat on the fence watching, he's got more sense than our Pix & doesn't get involved. I'm sometimes ashamed of my cats bad behavour, he's a flipping delinquent...
  4. In New Scientist that they discovered that anti-matter sub atomic anti-particles have particle/wave duality, so would the wave be an anti-wave? Oh dear, I'll be thinking about that in bed tonight if I can't sleep...
  5. Remember a scally-wag character on some soap buying a new dress on Friday, wearing it to a wedding on Saturday & taking it back for a refund on Monday. Of course she'd spilt something down it & was clocked wearing it at the wedding by a shop worker so the shop knew what she'd done & there was a row. Has anyone on here actually done/tried this?
  6. Tabby-cat's from Bradford, wonder if he meow's in a Yorkshire accent? He's probably saying "eeh by gum when I were a kitten it were uphill all t'way there & uphill all t'way back, tha dusn't know thee born ere in Notts!"
  7. Tabby-cat from across the footpath has come in the open front window & is swanning around our house as though he lives here, our Pix in on the half landing & doesn't know he's in, there'll be trouble if/when he finds out. My wife Sue was yabbering to his owner earlier on, they recently moved here from Bradford. Now Shadow-cat from next door has come in as well, we have a house full of cats but only one is ours, lol...
  8. In New Scientist that the technology for any country to hit net zero CO2 doesn't exist. So just how is the UK expected to do it? I think their disruptive protests will just annoy the public & lose them any support they may have..... If they hold up traffic in this warm weather drivers will be sat there with their engines idling & air conditioning blasting away so increasing CO2 emissions...
  9. Oh deary deary me, my team has gone & lost again, not looking good is it?
  10. So climate change protesters are clogging up our roads, they want the UK to have zero CO2 emissions by 2025. How is this possible? We'd have no gas central heating, no petrol or diesel vehicles, only solar, nuclear & wind generated electricity. Cant ever see us being CO2 neutral by 2025 or many decade's after...
  11. Wear green tinted glasses then there are no problems with red traffic lights...."Is there a problem officer?" Station road in Hucknall near Tesco is choco-block in rush hour now they've bunged all those traffic lights in, it was a lot free'er flowing when they had the mini roundabouts there...
  12. We were singing a hymn in assembly, I was at the front as it went in size order & I was the smallest in the class: a lad further back had a gormless look on his face & I was laughing at him. I then noticed that Pot Leg Bill (Mr Baines the headmaster) was looking at me, I then tried to look innocent. When the hymn finished Pot Leg said "a boy over there (pointing in my direction) seems to find something funny at the back!" I knew he meant me & smirked, he then launched himself towards me & smacked me straight round my left tab. The whole school burst out laughing. It didn't real
  13. Remember reading an article in a motoring magazine that tractors needed extra strong brakes because having big wheels on the back & small on the front it'd be constantly trying to runaway downhill, I was trying to work this out when I noticed it was the 1'st of April edition, lol...
  14. I'm afraid I laugh at things when I shouldn't. When I was in the army & saw someone getting a beasting I always found it funny, the NCO would sometimes clock me laughing then I'd get a beasting as well. Once I was put on a charge for laughing on parade & was fined £5, I wasn't laughing then as that was a lot of money in the 70's.... I'll be falling about laughing at sumat on the telly & my wife'll be sat there in stony silence, she can't see the funny side of things like I can, she was born in Hucknall so maybe that explains it, lol.... Mam'd say "you'll be laughing on the other si
  15. Well next door went to Mabo yesterday & Shadow-cat has been round here with us all day, only time he went round home was when he came with us to check on mail & food & water for the two budgies..... You're right Rog Pix & Now Shadow-cat rule the roost in this house, lol..
  16. I always thought Eminem was singing "The Chick Her Name Is Sadie" in The Real Slim Shady song..
  17. First time I went to Malta in 1991 all the buses were 1950's/60's vintage, some old bonneted Bedfords, they sounded like they had petrol engine's to me. Most of the cars were 50's/60's as well. We rented a car (an old escort) for £2 a day, only one headlight worked & no left wiper (& it rained) but it got us there, there was no MOT back then & most cars were old banger's. When I went again in 1997 they'd introduced MOT's & all the old banger's had gone & the buses were newer second hand British models, some still had Brit number plates on them. Think they have modern buses
  18. I think all those foreign buses are weird as the steering wheel & doors are on the wrong side, unless you're in Malta, Ireland, Oz or Kiwi land.... I quite liked the sound of the Greyhound buses with their V10 2 stroke engines. (I asked the driver about the engine) I traveled from Orlando to Miami on one & sat on the back seat all the way, it was a lot cheaper than the plane. I wonder what sort of engine Mexican buses have?..
  19. I said to someone at work "you're not as daft as you look are you?" She then went off on a tirade about me denigrating her intelligence saying it's not her fault she can't read or write very well. I was wishing I'd kept my big gob shut but that was never going to happen. You had to remember to tread on eggshells when she was around...
  20. Our barmy cat Pix had come in his cat flap in the back door & then wanted to go out the front door, so I let him out. He just come in his cat flap & wants to go out the front again, he must think I'm flipping daft.. The other day we were getting the washing in & Shadow-cat from next door snook in & stole every atom of Pix's crunchies we leave down for him. Shadow-cat is a great big fat thing but very friendly & lovable. We're looking after him next week so he'll be round our's staring at the cat food cupboard like he did last time they were on hols. They're thi
  21. I did see some bendy trolley buses when I was in Russia, I was fascinated with them. I asked the guide what voltage they used? She gave a me a very funny look, well you need to know these things don't you?
  22. How will they know if the clock is a second slow? Will it use itself as a reference? I expect they will have made a more accurate clock by then = 1 billionth of a second in 42 trillion years..
  23. Been having a think of how many of my friends I first got to know through the CB & I've got up to 15'ish. I met my wife through a CB friend so I can blame CB for all the shouting's at I get, lol..
  24. I was sweet on an Asian girl but when I met her Dad he said "I don't want my daughter dating/marrying a guy with blue eyes." He wasn't bothered about me being white just that I have blue eyes, the romance fizzled out..
  25. Just watched the program, was very interesting. A new horizon has opened up, I wonder what new discoveries await us???
