  1. ray been dj ing for many years but i will ask him when i see him next he might be at the reunion but otherwise he will be be at the boat again on the 24th of this month last night was a mixture of 50s 60s 70s music it will be my fav classic rock and roll next time
  2. ive had a real blast from the past tonight i went to arnold ex servismens club to see someone we knew from the 60s proforming for the first time in over 40 years when we knew him he was know as sutch and was the singer with mothers worry good night did loads of old 50s and 60s stuff not brilliaant but passablehad a long chat during one of his breaksmight be comming to white heart reunion in the afternoon as he has got a gig at the night time sure hippo girl whould have enjoyed it too. then went for the last hour to the boat inn lenton to see our old mate rocking ray another blast from the pas

  4. and yes if your comfy with the rider its a great adrenalin rush but can also be a bit scarry sometimes you could never get the same thrills from a fairground ride
  5. melissa once a biker always a bicker you will love it or hate it as every one knows love my bikes always have bit i would hate ridding on the modern sports bikes as a pillion most pillion riders look terrified perch up high above the rider and look so uncumfy on those little tiny seats over the rear mudguard but if i could id be up and over an old classic seat anytime as long as i knew the rider well a lot of the guys i rode withe in the 60s were great but there were one or two i hated ridding with and would not go on the back of if i could help it.

  7. mellisa is that little cloths shop on denman st ever open now not seen it open in ages but still has cloths displayed in the window but they do look a bit retro
  8. if you are thinking about putting one of your loved ones in to a care or a nursing home go and visit it on spec dont make appointments go in the morning or later in the evening to have a look this way you are more likely yo see it in its true colours not when they think relitives might be comming to visit ussually after lunch we allways went before lunch to see mum sometimes taking her out for lunch to the local pub her friend sometimes came tooand they realy enjoyed that in the home she was in they had several little sitting rooms with seating for about 10 people about six clients plus room

  10. my grama and her family lived in lea st not far from denman st in 1901 so would have done all thier shopping in those shops and daves dad lived with his father at 72 radford bulivard in the 192os so they would have used all them shops.
  11. was sat in the car on denman st this afternoon outside hydroponics shop while dave went to jerrys for his fishing bait for his first fishing this year on tuesday normally he whould go on the monday but as its bank holiday they will be closed so he had to go to pick it up today so maggotts down in his fridge in the cellar. hope weathers nice for them and me i got to go down to drs on my schooter then if its nice i think i will go into town for an hour or two

  13. was in matlock bath this afternoon saw a biker friend of ours he rides a lovely classic bsa rocket goldstar he has had for many yearshe and his wife are in there 70s he was telling me that his wife loves our site and often looks at itbut she is not the kind of person who would join or post but enjoys other peoples posts very much including mine so even if some people dont want to join they are still out there enjoying this fourum.

  15. it is always a hard desision if you have to put a relitive in to a care home or a nursing homebut sometimes a disision has to be made we had to do it for mum my sister jeans husband had early onsett parkinsons deseasehad for quite a few years my sister cared for him at home in the end it became too much for her and he was put into a local nursing home she used to go up every day to feed him his lunch and his tea as staff had to try and feed two clients at the same time as not enough staff to allow one to 1 to 1 most of the staff were very careing and effient but most of the clients needed 1 t

  17. a few years before my mumdied we had to make the desision to put her in a care home for her own safty she had alzimers before she whent in we looked at several placers she even went for restvite at four befor we made the final desision of were she would go personlyin the end she went to braybrook house in burton joyce it was a realy good home. the staff were great she was still there untill she had to go into hospital just before she died.she had really needed a nursing home rather than a care home by that stage we went to the home at all times of the day and night the staff always were hel
  18. my mates husband came to a wedding last saturday with his long white beared in pliats and hair his five year old grandaughter when he first got there his hair had a ptity pink pearly bow in his hair and a black silk rose pinned to his shirt apparently she told him grandad you going to a wedding and you have got to look nice and smart we all laughed and we laghed even more that he saidhe had forgotten she had done it till some one asked why he had got it.
  19. yes the old school just oposit ayr st the skills exchange has many members offering there skills in exchange for the skills of other members no money exchanges handsjust hours for each hour of work you do for someone you get one hour credited to you. then you can use those hours to get jobs done for you the only thing you have to pay for is if you use any materials in your exchange. its ammazing how quick your hours mount up just from doing a little job for someone. a little house work showing others how to do a arts and craft project ie crochet cross stitch ect and you can meet new people of
  20. yes i know benjamin but out of 25 or more couples who all went to skeggy together 68/69 only 4 couples still together many of them were much closer than than we were then and when some of them latter split it came as quite a surprize to many of us.. william robins cafe was opposit where the garage is on queens rd it what is now the shop that sells fires and solid fuel boilers today just before you get to the bingo hall some of our friends lived in the flat above it.
  21. as i said in earlier post i trully belive in life after death i am not religious always say i am agnostic. when we lived in prory st old lenton the man who lived in our house before us used to swear he often saw a monk in the front passage way we all put it down to drink talking. piggy or i never saw anything of him so kept thinking the same as every one else in the area. then when our youngest son was about 2 years old i would sometimes hear him having a conversation if i was in the kitchen his older brother had just moved out of his rooom so thought he was back in his old room talking to h
  22. decent clean and hyginic baby feeding places are few andfar between most shops expect mothers to breast feed in toilets yes any place can be discreet most young breast feeding mums i have seen use a sheet or blanket to cover the baby and mother and are very discreet more than the fact she was thrown out the shop in a very public wayit certainly was not done discreetly most of the sstaff i have seen in sports direct are young men who i am sure dont object to seeing a page three girl but not what breasts are made for and most of you older guys who object to it just need to think that is how you
