My favourite motorway junction is the one that gets me off the motorway!

I think Keep one, drop one is the problem. That's all I have seen today when I've checked in, so I have kept away.

Yes I am correct. The two pictures above are taken from Radford Road pointing towards Gregory Boulevard. The tramline turns left BEFORE it gets to the Scoop shop. If you look at the Scoop shop from directly in front, the tram will pass to the left of the shop and the car is parked up what I must assume is/was an access road to the back of the shop(s). My dates may be wrong but Scoop was certainly AFTER it was Fred Harley. I still have the Armstrong trolley jack that my father bought from their in the late 60's/early 70's. It was Fred Hartley early to mid 70's. I'll have another look later to make sure I am correct. Public Eye is on the telly!

I remember that as a Scoop shop. Before that it was Fred Hartley, a trade price motor spares shop. My father had his own business (motor engineer) at the time and he was a very regular shopper for parts.

I remember Majors on Aspley Lane. It was always a must when visiting granny on Minver Crescent. It was in the block of the shops to the left of The Beacon. One of few shops I do remember there.

Those notices are now on the windows in Long Eaton Wilko and Parliament Street. Went in both but didn't see one price reduction let alone 1000's.

I have been led to believe that they have sound generators on them, hybrids too, but I have never heard one. Had a lift in a new Kia electric thing the other week. It was noisier than my Rover 75!

Ours were sectional concrete. Built a bit like a concrete fence. ie posts with grooves down either side with imitation stone panels dropped inbetween the posts to form walls. stick a roof on and seal it all up.

I have to admit that I am only a good weather cyclist. I haven't had the chance to test them yet. there won't be an instant answer anyway as it will take a couple of weeks cycling if the problem is to return. I will keep you posted.

Well I got my grips today. Time will tell whether or not they solve or even help the problem but in any event they are a VAST improvement on the grips that were on. Tried a lot of these all of which were cheaper and I have to say that this is definitely one of those instances where you get what you pay for. Will be carrying an Allen key around with me for a while in case I need to adjust their rotation while I am out.

Right, well today I went into Long Eaton Cycles. Proper bike shop that sells good quality stuff and the staff know what they are talking about. Spoke to the man in there and told him what the problems were and his response was that there are two ways to deal with this. I jumped in and told him I had already fitted an adjustable stem - that turned out to be his number one recommendation. He went on to his no 2 and started showing me ergonomic handlebar grips. I didn't think much to this until he handed me these at £40 per pair. They were something else. They supported the palms of my hands perf

I'll put them back up to 70psi then. I have heard that one before about punctures.

Just been testing lower tyre pressures. I have put them at 40psi today but I soon slow down even on the flat if in too high a gear.
