  2. I intend to do just that Brew........just of my 60s years with the company.....best working years of my life...never to be forgotten .....other staff members even many customers....who's names i still recall.......i start tomorrow......T'will keep me busy.......

Much thanks to Paulus for starting this Topic way back in 2011....since i joined 'Nottstalgia' in 2014 its given me many hours of pleasure in remembering and discussing the many 'Marsdens' and Farrands'' stores that i worked at in the 60s....also much thanks to Cliff Ton'' for the many Photo's............i intend to start taking 'Pictures' of the stores as they are today.......starting with Marsdens Andover road where i began in 1960.......hope you enjoy......

  5. Yes that was Farrands Cliff ton.............Jock Brown was the Manager in the 50s .....and early 60s.........

  7. Danced to this in a Pub in ''Tuesday Market place'' Kings Lynn'' about 1974.......great beat of the 'Hollies''........... Hard to believe nearly 50 years ago.......and the Hollies are now nearly 80...........

So many memories of old friends and family in the Heathfield Hotel........considered by outsiders to be rough back in the 60s......they were real down to earth folk....who loved a Pint and a sing song with their Pals.........remember so many of the family names......Fishers......Warsop......Welthorne....Fewkes.....Birds.......Crowles.....Wallheads....Ingles...Wakefields..Allsops...Lounds.,,Allcocks.and many more........... Had my first Pint in there when i was 15 in 1960,,,,most of the above names were ''Teddy Boys'' and great characters............Yes there were a few fights (usually ove

I have some real funny memories \of my 'Lady's' in 'Red Dresses'' Upstairs at the Highbury Pub in Bulwell at a family Party in the late 60s........an Aunt and Uncle had a trifle fight while Dancing...my Ex always liked making an Entrance'' and entered the room in her brand new long 'Red Dress'' just after the ''Trifle fight''...........dead funny....she shot across the room on her 'ASS' crashing into 'Grandma's' table as she supped her 'Guiness'' ................

  18. Did you see the 'Peace Pagoda' Margie? Worked MK a lot 80s and 90s........The Coop had a store in each district......some very interesting 'Shoplifters' down there......Mostly East-enders..who had moved there..........all claiming to know the 'Krays'.......bless em............

Your Dad sounds quite a man Jill..........always admire those that have sailed the world for a living or in Wartime......My Grandad sailed in Atlantic convoys in first world war......and one of my sons is currently in the Pacific working on board a merchant ship......just told me wont be home till after Xmas.................
