  1. I really don't miss much Col, I even note when there is a gleeful - and totally bogus report Boris fired Cummings for speaking out against him. Perhaps he's confusing Trump with Boris and Cumming with Krebs. An easy mistake to make when racing to get the jibe in before anyone else... "It gets better! Breaking news is he was sacked on the spot and told to leave immediately for briefing against boris! " As for the humour... I hope they don't give up the day job.
  2. Cheer up Lizzie, it will stop hurting when the pain goes...
  3. Heh, it soon will be when we get there!
  4. If, like the Hatton Garden job, there is only a charge of burglary it is worth serious consideration as a career. Seven in the gang, 14 million in gems and a maximum sentance of seven years. Discount 50% for geting rid of stolen goods and 50% remission for good behaviour means for a mere 42 months inside they come out as millionaires... pity about the proceeds of crime act though if they weren't smart enough to tuck the gems away...
  5. Being radgy, nadgey and having the 'nadges' were all used in our family...
  6. Herself likes red wines to be 'chewy', strange to say I know what she means by it...
  7. In reality did any of us really like our first taste of alcohol? For me it was an aquired taste. Spirits - nasty, liquers? once got totally faceless on something orange flavoured and was violently ill on Sherry when I met my in laws for the first time. I like certain beers but can't abide the headache that comes with them. Nectar of the gods for me is Taylors Yorkshire tea.
  8. We can add another to the account and not necessarily at the same address, no extra charge.
  9. You've obviously never attended one of the more enthusiastic Bullingdon Club dinners Phil....
  10. But not past political inclinations???
  11. Re-infection is a major worry and there have been cases reported in the UK. According the UK GOV the second time around it is somewhat different to the first infection. The concern is that Covid goes endemic like flu and keeps coming back in mutated from.
  12. He did at times appear to be doing a Svengali impression but since Brexit what has he done? With Covid he came across as the ultimate pragmatist, a man totally devoid of empathy when he mooted the "herd immunity" theory. It was quickly shot down but it was not originally his idea, it was first suggested way back in the 1920's. Faced with an unprecedented situation it was inevitable, and indeed sensible, that all possible scenarios and solutions, however unpalatable should be considered. I don't know if he's dishonest, in fact a case could be made that, like corbyn, he's
  13. Several papers, Mail, Telegraph. Times, say the Oxford Vaccine is far less (£2 -ish) than the Pfizer version. At he moment it is sold 'at cost' but under the terms of the contract, Astra Zeneca (not the government), can say when the pandemic is over and can raise the price.
  14. Woohoo there will be celebrations on the deservedly maligned PFM... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54925322
  15. We were shot down in flames by a young Turkish street seller. He guessed we're English launched and into his spiel. I answered in the few words of German I know, he answered without breaking stride in excellent German. My better half went to French, same result and he sighed looked at us and in English said" you want to try Swedish, Italian or Russian next"? He was fluent in seven languages, I gave him a fiver and didn't underestimate street sellers again.
  16. I think we have lower rates if there is no TV in the deal but I'm not sure of the details...
  17. I'd post a pic but it would frighten the horses...
  18. Don't need 'em so I'm staying out if this conversation, my hair is now long enough to touch my shoulders...
  19. Or was the first sample pure Aussie Vino Collapso?
  20. It's my dearly beloved who has the account, primarily for TV. and it's exactly the same as online shopping at Morrisions. Without the TV package you are paying a monthly subscription, about £9 a month for little more than free next day deilivery and need to buy quite a lot from Amazon to make it worth while... With out the TV package I can't say it's worth it.. unless you're rich and live in the Trent Valley of course... Edit: I've just been told it's also the major suplier of her reading material on Kindle and costs £79 a year....
  21. Tried Amazon prime food shopping this morning. Odered 10:10... delivered 1:21, all present and correct!. Delivery by a retired accountant who apperantly divides his time between picking up pin money delivering grcoeries and playing golf. I wonder how business will be lost with the drop in impulse buys?
  22. Good grief Carni... I don't know what to say... I really, really hope you both recover soon.. any ideas where you picked it up?
  23. Development... Cain has walked away from No 10.... or was he pushed?
