  3. Not being able to directly speaking to a human being to cancel my tv license for the period of absence that I go away. And then after canceling the direct debit, getting numerous emails, with a, 'do not reply ' message, with all sorts of threats. Bullying from the BBC is what i call it!!
  4. I also remember them, and used to love em. I thought that they tasted differently, the last time I had a packet. Must have been the lack of chloroform!, Although the missus never answered me, when I asked her if the rag i was holding up to her nose, smelt of chloroform !!

  11. With a bit of 'control' they could still have banger racing, using the vehicles impounded by the police instead of sending them straight to the crusher. £20.00 a car, then off to the crusher !!
  12. Yes Mary, it was a moped, but it wouldn't get up donkey hill without a bit of assistance from my legs. Those were the days, i even went to skeggy on it!, Seemed to take for ever, 30mph max!!. Bit different to what I ride now.
  13. I used to go up donkey hill to my aunts house on hallem rd off of lees rd mapperley. When i had a pushbike, i would always try to cycle up but never got further than blue bell hill rd. That is, until i got my Raleigh runabout, that made it easier to get to the top !.
  14. The overdrive was optional, and I think the later one's only had it on 4th gear. Auto was also an option, my friend Dave had one and wished he had the manual instead.
  15. Yes, same engine, it was same 'B' series engine. Minis, moggys, and similar had , 'A' series engine.
  16. There's a lot more work went into building that station than ever i imagined. All to be lost to a pile of concrete that won't have anything like the emotion of the station. Utter sacrilege!!

  19. Me step mom got rid of all of 'our ' family photos. Even the one's of my grandparents wedding, didn't ask, just dumped everything when my father died!!

  22. Hi fogrider, not a train buff, but I remember seeing a turntable down there when I went trainspotting as a lad. Maybe a train buff will confirm, but whilst on the subject, can any one tell me, was the station dug out or was the ground formed naturally and then used for it's purpose?
