  1. Not talking about Notts in general Phil. But there's no way I would live in the city. But then again, no-one shed a tear when I left so probably they would'nt want me back anyway ! Like my late brother once told me, "Where I live, birds sing. In Nottingham, they cough". Some nice gaffs in the county though. Think about it, would you like me for a neighbour? ( P.P. said he would, then he'd have me painting all his ironware).
  2. It's always helpful to have a tenner in yer pocket.
  3. Not unless they accept Ancients. Would have thought Nottingham had enough student accomodation. Students must outnumber the resident population. If ever they decide to go on the rampage, there'd be no stopping em. Think I'll stay an ignorant 'owd un'. Did'nt learn too much at school and it's too late now.
  4. Okay, just as long as your'e easy on the homework. And I'm not sitting at the back of the class !
  5. Cannot speak for anyone else but, as a former pupil of that establishment, I never had access to a camera, nor did any of my inmates. At that time in my childhood, owning a camera was the last thing on peoples list of priorities. It was survival of the fittest. Come to think of it, I never had or used a camera until I was about 20. That were an Agfa Rapide. As for moving back, I watched a youtube video called 'Nothing in Notts'. That was the clincher.
  6. Welcome to the site Sak66. I'm sure someone on here will come up with something.Stick around and see what develops.
  7. Had our Covid jabs this morning then came home to watch the old farts playing Seniors championship snooker. Interesting game, however, it does amuse me that it's called seniors, when I'm old enough to be most of ems dad ! Still, I can't complain. Been a scorcher today and if it's the same tomorrow, it'll be murder up at Sheffield Park. But I love it when it's busy. Wonder if Plantfit bought a new bike frame while in Retford.?
  8. Well C.T., you could have looked out for Aurora Australis. Just saying...
  9. @plantfit, hope you enjoyed your day and remembered to clean your paintbrushes. Not been a bad day at this end of the world. Our darts evening was well attended, with 18 contestants. I managed to get to the final but missed out because I could'nt get double bloody one! Never mind though, there's always next time. At least I got the runner up medal. I do enjoy running these evenings, like the quiz night also. Another treat tomorrow, our Covid shots.
  10. Sounds delightful Oz. I'd kill for mushy peas, I love em. In fact if left to me, I'd have them every day. Must admit though, your picture does'nt look very appetising. Jill, just because I hail from Nottingham, it's no guarantee I'm aware with everything that went on. Been down yer 37 years and some people still can't understand me. But that's southerners for you.
  11. Some of our residents are far too refained for such things like that. I'm still trying to persuade them to try pie n chips with gravy. And I'm waiting for somebody to tell me what a 'cob' is. G'day Oz.
  12. Cheers Rog., had a looksee at the list and I've got 18 players to keep in line. Will start at 6.00pm with a supper of hot dogs or jacket potatos ( with cheese, beans or both!). Will keep you posted.
  13. So what are you planning to do Rog? Hire out your tent at Calais, to the highest bidder, complete with a jolly sea cruise.
  14. I had to have a looksee on t'internet re your tree Jill. It looks a big bugger. How will you prune it etc.,or do you intend to let it do its own thing?
  15. We've already got Wallabies just up the road from us at Heaven Farm. Re.Eurovision, from what fraction I've seen, it just seems to be more camper than a jambouree. All crossdressers welcome.
  16. Already done that Mrs.Buttercup x. Iv'e put them outside though, in a sheltered space that will get some sunlight, till they're ready to repot. Hopefully I might get one to grow. Not really too worried though, it were just something I wanted to try and see if they would germinate. Don't have a clue what variety they came from. Will keep you posted. Many thanks for the advice.xx
  17. Well I'm running Bingo tonight then running a darts knockout on friday. That's my entertainment sorted.
  18. An ex schoolfriend of mine, who used to live near me in Radford, tried to get me onto 'Radfordtonians'. But apparently she was unsuccessful. Seems you have be on Facebook to achieve this. Ah well, it's back to tormenting Phil and Rog.
  19. Here you go, as requested Mrs,B......
  20. That's what I were thinking Phil. So what were the problem Compo?
  21. You certainly know how to live life in the fast lane, dontcha Rog ! Tired me out just reading your post. Still raining here and my weekly injection hurt like hell this morning ! Looking forward to snooker this afternoon.
  22. Allus said your'e lot were weird Oz ! Take care mate.
  23. Hey up @plantfit, yes, I enjoyed what I did yesterday, but alas, I won't be doing it today. It's absolutely persistently p♤♧♧♤ng down with wet stuff. So, as a diversion I'm going to try and repot my little tomato seedlings that seem to be doing well after nearly two years wrapped in kitchen paper. Don't have clue what I'm doing, but they're now touching the top of the cover so have to take action ! Wish me luck comrades !! I'm going in.......
