  5. I think there was a pow camp at Watnall close to where the old Watnall Hall was just off Trough Lane do not know if it was Italian or German prisoners there. My dads aunty had a farm up New Farm Lane at Nuthall and they had German pow working on the land George Blanchard started off with a small bakery on James st.Kimberley before moving to Watnall

Hi Nonna my daffs are even through yet may be 3 or 4 weeks yet still going down to minus 15 at night but slowly warming up during the day i put yard furniture out today hoping for warmer temps, i can not understand why daffs survive minus 45 below hope everything is ok there take care be careful. We are ok here there are 285 cases in Saskatchewan as of yesterday most places are closed except essential services i am still working but many people are working from home schools are closed but the children are being taught on line.Yes it does get boring but if staying home helps defeat

  9. Hi Rob we were in Florida from January to the end of February we flew back from Orlando and they were preparing for the virus at the airport we were very lucky to get home without any problems.

Hi Emma welcome to Nottsalgia regarding the blue buses from about 1958 until 1963 i went to Alfreton High School .I lived at Nuthall and would catch either the B3 or the C5 which went to Alfreton maybe your mum or dad was on those buses at the same time as those buses operated out of Underwood. A friend of mine Gordon Ince was also a bus driver for MGO and his wife was a conductress they also ran MGO car rally club from about 1964 until 1968 which i was a member.   23. notty ash it is a Humber Super Snipe it had the Blue Ribband six cylinder engine 4.1 litre ohv exellent fuel economy 12mpg if you were lucky worked on them in the late 50s and early 60s. I think they put the same engine in the Commer lorry. I wish i had one now just for shows.
  24. My father had one to i used it to shoot at crows and rooks it also could shoot the different colored darts. I was about 10 years old at the time.
