Commo 1,292
Alex McLeish leaves by "mutual consent" - who we gunna get nah? How on earth can 6 weeks be long enough for anyone in this position? You have to wonder whether the new owners know much about the game???
LizzieM 9,514
Nobody in their right mind would want to take the job on, unless of course they just want a TEMPORARY position!
Cliff Ton 10,479
I assume in cases like this, they take the job on because they have all kinds of built-in compensation clauses; so that even if they only last 3 weeks they walk away with a big pile of money. I'd be happy to do that.
.... 23
Not surprised in the slightest at this news after last weekend's silence by McLeish. I don't think it's a mutual decision or that he's only been given six weeks, I think he has seen the truth about Forest's owners and decided to quickly jump ship. No great respect for McLeish and he's always apt to do as such but I really don't blame him in the circumstances. If they had been decent employers they would have left Sean O'Driscoll to carry on his good, steady work. Many more turbulent times ahead for Forest I think.
Bubblewrap 3,815
He lasted about the same time as Brian Clough did at Leeds United in the 70s

Michael Booth 7,364
Funny post, radfordred (#14). When the Arabs arrived the fans were expecting good times at the City Ground but it's all becoming a farce at Forest.

Commo 1,292
Spot on Andy, there have been some good results of late, long may it continue. Although I am a Forester, unlike some folk (my brother for instance!) I am not averse to seeing County pulling their socks up, I like to see all the local teams doing well.

Bilboro-lad 294
Tommy Lawton once had a shop in Netherfield. We used to get footballs from him. My Mum knew who he was but to us he was just an old bloke telling us how to head the ball.
Michael Booth 7,364
Sorry, a charlesworth (#23). It's in the 'Ann's Giggle Pages'. It's true what you state about the friendly banter, It's something that always puts a smile on our faces.
