Jill Sparrow 10,331
Personally, as a child, I never had to suffer the privations of an outside toilet but for those who view that little lean-to in the back yard with romantic nostalgia... a new take on an old favourite.  Izal be seeing you In all the old, familiar privvies, Where the icy, gale force chivvies All night through. In that small enclave, Where spiders dangle from the chain. The cistern with its rusty bell, The rats that make you run like hell! Izal be seeing you: Those crafty bugs you're bound to meet.  It's no use standing on the seat. The crabs in there can jump six feet. Izal find you in the outside loo, The floortiles wet with dew. Izal be reading of The Sun.... But Izal be seeing you!  Izal be seeing you When emptying the pot guzunder, Need to break the ice asunder Afore I do. On the rusty nail, Hang printed squares and spare junk mail. The leak that through the roof assails And drips into enamel pails. Izal be seeing you At 2am: the slugs to greet. That vindaloo looked such a treat, Now red-hot spikes spring from the seat. It's dragged you from your nice warm bed Out, shivering, to the loo. With a frozen poppadom.... So, Izal be seeing you!
