Beekay 5,150
I've had Egon toast or Egon steak, but never had Egon Ronay.
Beekay 5,150
It's now 12.50 on a Friday an' I've just finished me favourite...Corned Beef, egg, chips and mushy peas with a generous dribble of beef gravy. I'll be in Utopia for the rest of the day.
philmayfield 6,140
We had a takeaway fish and chips and mushy peas from the local pub last night. There was far more than we could eat really but we managed! It was much better than the chip shop in Southwell and only 5 mins away. I think I might make it a regular weekly event. Beekay 5,150
Phil, if you find you have too many chips to eat, just let them cool and then freeze what you have left. You can bung them in the oven whenever you want them. Tried it many times and they've always been fine. Forgive me if I'm preaching to the converted.
Jill Sparrow 10,307
And I thought I was parsimonious! You must be a chip off the old block, Beekay!

Beekay 5,150
Forgive us our trespasses. (Wot does parsimonious mean?).
philmayfield 6,140
Someone who’s always moaning about parsnips.
Jill Sparrow 10,307
Really? I thought it was a Parsi who was always moaning. They follow Zoroaster, therefore perhaps they like their Parsi nips roasted. I certainly do. Yum yum!
Beekay 5,150
Don't upset Oz, he loves parsnips as does SG. Me, I can take em or leave em. That's why I live in a Parsi nage.

nonnaB 4,895
This is the photo I wanted to post but couldn't. Covid has caused diners to eat outside. This photo represents the wine festival which should be now so they've improvised. These arches are a group of shops opposite my sons restaurant. Local council agreed to place extra tables under the arches in case of rain (forecast for tonight).
Jill Sparrow 10,307
I read that the UK is on target for cheaper Aussie wines. Sounds good to me. Red, of course!
