Why, yes it were - they nearly threw Den, me and Stu out - even then me and Den stood on the pavement and chin-wagged for about 15 minutes! I suppose Brian missed his train - pity, it would have been interesting to see his face!

Sorry didn't get to meet you Red. It did take a bit of sleuthing to find us though I guess. A mate of mine came in to join us, couldn't find us and had to text from the other side of the pub!

Just wanted to say thanks to all for a really good night, I really enjoyed coming along to meet you all. Wishing you, Eric, an enjoyable stay for the rest of your short time here. Absolute pleasure to meet you.

Cheers, all.

Thanks for the many anxious posts but spent Friday evening in the QMC accident and emergency department with a broken ankle.

Slipped off from the bottom two runs of the railway bridge at Beeston station.

Had been in the New Venture club warming up for a good drinking session and looking forward to meeting you all when I slipped and fell, some cuts to face and hands and apart from broken ankle I’m feeling just great….cheers

Once again thanks for your concerns especially those from Limey, your comment was most warming, hoping to meet you all at the next meet especially you Limey.

36.

Sorry to hear about your accident Brian

You missed a good night.

If I was you I would be straight back to my Solicitor.

I get mine provided by the Union, and she is brill!

She's already dealing with one case for me.

You could try them at Injurlawyers4U or whatever?

...saw Tv show re Detroit last week, is it really that bad?

In a word - YES!

Ever since the riots in the late 60's, Detroit has steadily gone down hill - and the 'burbs have swelled beyond recognition. Although I always say Detroit as a point of reference, I actually live about 35 miles north west - just north of Ann Arbor.

The city of Detroit is prtty crap - they keep trying to improve it, and two new stadiums (Tgers and Lions) have helped, but if you venture beyond a very small downtown area, it gets bad in a hurry. Not a particularly "tourist friendly" destination!

I saw a bit on "Top Gear" where Clarkson was in Detroit ("Home of the motor industry" as he put it) and whilst they were filming it they had a constant police escort !!!
