Coronation Street

People mainly old ladies watch the soaps because there is nothing else for them on the telly worth watching............Not everyone wants to watch these X Factor, BGT, I'm a Celeb, Strictly Come Dancing etc. stupid reality shows which are all fixed or the sex and violent films and dramas which seem to be all the norm today.........The telly in general is rubbish now.......Soaps mainly Corrie bring back memories of the good old days............

Isn't Coronation Street due another disaster? Couldn't a 747 crash on it And meanwhile Emmerdale Gets wiped out in a flash flood We can all live in hope

When I was young and single in the 1960's I used to hang around the Playhouse Bar with the incrowd on a Sturday night.....................Sometimes when the plays finished we were allowed into the Gre

I quite enjoyed Corrie in the early sixties (black and white, grainy 405 lines and no remote). It used to remind me of the terraced houses with back yards and outside toilets where I lived in Forest F

The worry is that now the F word is so commonplace the C word is surfacing. I've heard it on TV at least three times recently.

That really is disgusting. My wife hates it, but I sometimes yell it out if I bang my head or hit my thumb with the hammer.

You have to admit, the signature tune to Coronation Street is the dreariest ever. You almost know the characters are not going to be a jolly lot! As for accents, thd odd times when over there and we put the breakfast show on, there is a blonde girl comes on to speak about financial stuff, and you could cut her Lancs accent with a knife. It almost seems over the top.

Katyjay, you mean Steph McGovern: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steph_McGovern

You're right her accent is very pronounced.

Seems the BBC diversity policy is alive and well.

Did you see this? http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/bbc-advertises-weather-forecaster-training-5777942

The BBC has a lot to answer for. Just ask Saville's victims.
