  1. Rog Asked my brother but he doesn't remember them on Glenbrook Cres. He remembered an Alan Pavier, though, at Glaisdale School. This would have been in the 50's
  2. Exactly the same as me Linda. Couldn't stand Pagnol, but loved the other 3
  3. I loved Candide! Yes, remember Mr Charnock, but not his parties, although I remember him being at a 6th Form/Leavers Disco at Sandpipers or some such. Also remember taking younger children on a walk by Cromford Canal, churning out the history of the place - in fact I was telling someone about it just the other day. Perhaps that was an Arkwright Society duty?!
  4. Thanks Rog. Don't remember the name, but will ask my brother, who is quite a bit older than me
  5. I lived on Glenbrook Crescent in the 60's. What was your Gran's name?
  6. I remember him, although not John Hickman. You have me wondering who the lady was! I was friendly with Ruth's brother, Stephen Draper and his friend John Levers and Jonny Hallett, all in the year above us. Some others in that year were very appealing to us younger girls!
  7. My brother was probably in the Glaisdale team you thrashed twice, Benjamin! He also played against Pleat and Birchenall
  8. Have never been to a reunion - don't remember whether I even knew about the 1997 one. Deb Green WAS in the party who went to Sarreguemines - she's on the photo I dug out last night. Pleased to hear your parents are still around. I did a lot of travelling to Nottm, too, particularly when my Mum was ill, which lasted a few months. My Dad died fairly suddenly
  9. My parents said chatty too, meaning dirty, and I still say it
  10. Oh, I know who you are now, Linda R! Ruth, Yvonne and Barbara were my best friends at the time, but not in touch with any of them now. Remember Jane, but don't know about a Debbie being on the trip - Deb Green, perhaps? Don't remember buying the record! I have a photo of the group of us. Have you got it too?. I did French, German and History. Both my parents have died, but my brother is still in Nottingham so go "home" sometimes- still miss it after all these years
  11. Not sure who you are, Linda! I went on an exchange to Sarreguemines - think it was in 1971. I don't remember Elton John, though! I was a regular Friday nighter at the Rodney too
  12. The Metalwork teacher at my school, Bilborough Grammar, was Mr Kirton, or however it's spelled! Didn't know him, as girls in those days weren't allowed to dabble in such subjects (not that I'd have wanted to!)
  13. Look froward to your stories, as I grew up in Bilborough, too
  14. The name is too common - there are loads of possibilities
  15. How old would she have been in 1971? Was she married or single?
  16. My cousin, Norma, was married to the one of the Brooks. My family was quite close to them. Norma sadly died a few years ago
  17. Didn't realise it was still standing. Used to go in there quite a lot, many years ago!
  18. Pleased for both of you, Chulla and Carni!
  19. So sorry to hear this, Carni. Best wishes for tomorrow and a celebratory cake!
  20. Perhaps, Benjamin. I was only 12, though, in 1969.... Can only remember the Co-op!
  21. I had family too, who lived in Aspley and I grew up in Bilborough. Don't know about Aspley now but when I've been to Bilborough in the last few years, there's been a steep decline. No pride in their houses and gardens, often. When I see my Mum's garden now, I'm glad she can't see it
