Wollaton / Bramcote I heard.

No I'm not ! Don't like heights, so sent the missus up there to take the picture ! Taken from Lincoln Castle battlements.

Taken last year with an old Panasonic Lumix LX2. Got fed up carrying a DSLR around all day.

Toilets that I remember around Nottm which have gone; Nottm Rd, Canning Circus, Wollaton Rd Radford, Nuthall Rd, Wilkinson St, Colwick Rd, Queens Dr. & many others also. Inapropriate behaviour my A**E, more like the local council penny pinching & hoping no one would notice.

Name the firm Mick.....................so we can all boycott em !

And the days are getting shorter too !

I can just about remember "Mighty Fine" when I joined NCT in 74.

Were'nt the public toilets originally water storage tanks built for the second world war in case of city center fires ? Converted to toilets after the war. Also remember Albert Brown when we lived in the old St Anns in the 60s. He & his "friend" Vivian, used to frequent the Lord Napier pub on Union Road.

Talking of Talbot Street & Lambert's factory, my missus (when she was a young lass ) in 1964, noticed a fire in that factory on her way to "Brownies" one night. Her & her cousin ran up to Canning Circus & saw a Copper& told him what they had seen. Here's the clip from the Nottm Evening Post a few days later. My Missus on the left BTW.

Flat front Daimler's were quite nice to drive ! They first came into service in 1962, I think.

My EX-Wife lives on Querneby Rd in Mapperley, my daughter now married & has her own house lived with her mum awhile. My daughter told me stories about never seeing anything but a voice mimicing her mother's voice.at a time when only my daughter was at home. These voices got so bad she won't go back to her Mum's house anymore !
