  1. The book on Midland Railway Architecture has a nice picture of Basford(Vernon) station with the level crossing at Nottingham Road

  5. I'm 68 & as a rule enjoying life since I moved to back to Nottingham I certainly wouldn't want to be 25 again

  10. My favourite books in my collection are the directories I have 20 the earliest being 1832(White). I have Nine Kelly's earliest 1891 latest 1953. These books a a great source of "information" & a good solver of arguements on line
  11. Merthyr Imp a better place to look for The Victorian Notingham books would be Abe books
  12. Where I live now(Old Basford) 1955(ish) for all the railways that were there then The train spotting would have ben good with al the line still in place

  17. About £7 - £8 He had load the last time I was there There are some via Abe books apparently the hardest one to get is volume 20. Oxfam on Market Street had a few on Friday
