  1. Hello, David, thanks for your post regarding Paul but we were informed of the loss of your son by Ady Stimpson. If you go to the Home Page, go down to the bottom of the page and click on 'Orbituaries, Nottstalgia Members' you'll find many comments from his Nottstalgia friends. He's missed by us all and I send my regards to you and members of his family. Michael.
  2. I was so sad to read your post, carni but you've won all your battles so far and I'm sure you'll win this one too. I hope things go well for you tomorrow and, like other Nottstalgians, I'll be thinking of you.
  3. Lizzie (#50), you'd need to remember it if you ever went on The Chase.
  4. Welcome to Nottstalgia, Arnell1862. I look forward to reading your posts and sharing your memories. I've attached a photo of Grainger Street for you. My house was on the left, just before the entry. I spent the first sixteen years of my life there. I hope you like the photo.
  5. I know I've put this on before but there are many new Nottstalgians who may wish to see it. There are newspapers from around the World. http://www.thebigproject.co.uk/news/#.VVIyE5MUjai
  6. After reading all your posts regarding Chris I think it was money well spent, Carni.
  7. It was good to see the photo of Cliff Ton's photo of Victoria Station (#105). It was the exact spot where I met my wife on our first date. I'd met her a couple of days earlier at a Nottingham City Transport dance at the Elizabethan Ballroom on Parliament Street. I was over an hour late but she still waited for me. When I showed her the photo tonight she said that she was glad she did wait. So was I as we've had a great life together.
  8. I thought it was the place as stated because there've been previous comments regarding the Chapel on another Topic.
  9. Thanks for your lovely post, Wendy. It's good to learn that Pete had a really good send off, one that you described so well.
  10. I've just read this article in the Nottingham Post which will please some of us. There's also a report about the Central Library being sold to a development company. http://www.nottinghampost.com/400-000-worth-of-improvements-to-the-aboretum-start-next-week/story-29894697-detail/story.html
  11. FLY2 (#2), I was with my wife in the Market Square last week and found it full of foreign food stalls. Despite all the different foods being cooked we chose the Hog Roast. The chap was really generous with the meat as he put it onto our cobs. After putting the stuffing and apple sauce on we sat on the wall and enjoyed our food as we enjoyed the atmosphere in the Square. After we'd finished we looked at the stalls we'd missed and came across a cake stall. The cakes were the sort that had you drooling and, after a lot of thought, we decided to have a Baileys Cream flavoured cake each. We sat at
  12. Haha, the important thing is that we beat them 3-0. Oh, to keep on topic, I have a Scottish dustbin man.
  13. I've always said, you can make it if you try.
  14. I'm so pleased that everything went well, carni. Thanks for letting us know, sue B 48.
  15. For those that can't remember it, Ian. I could just eat one now.
  16. It's true, Jill Sparrow (#95), you can't always get what you want. Just ask Mick Jagger.
  17. Good post, loppylugs. I used to enjoy listening to Alistair Cooke and his Letter From America on the radio.
  18. I've always said that it's what you do and not what you say. Now that all the rubbish talk is over Trump may surprise us all.
  19. Hillary Clinton, her voice really grates on me. It's the reason I wanted Trump to win because I didn't want to listen to her for the next four years. I always thought Trump was funny.
  20. Welcome to Nottstalgia, Mike. I look forward to reading your posts and sharing your memories. It's quite a few years now since we last saw each other at the bottom of Linby Close, off Valley Road.
  21. I'm so sorry to learn that Firbeck has passed away. He's been with Nottstalgia for many years and, like many others on Nottstalgia, I enjoyed reading his escapades with Bilbraborn. I've also been pleased with all your lovely comments and I hope that his family get to see them. R.I.P. Firbeck.
