  1. I do like my Nilfisk pressure washer with additive tank, nice bit of kit Rog
  2. Very true Ban, was down Newark market this morning, gone is the buzz of the old markets and the local council have cut out two of the market days now so only three market days, it seems like the council want to shut down the town center, we stopped going to Worksop market a couple of years ago for the same reason, not many market stalls and closed down shop the place is now so run down, such a shame for the people who live there Rog
  3. The adverts say "repairs usually while you wait" Rog
  4. End of 130 years trading in Newark, , high rates and high energy bills have forced the popular butchers and provisions shop to close, another great loss to Newark which is rapidly becoming a ghost town, Half the shops on Stodman street have closed and left the town, Wetherspoons gone,M&S closed, all that seems to be left are mobile phone repairs, nail bars (6 of them) and charity shops (who are now charging just below brand new shop prices Rog
  5. I use 3mm bright steel bar with the ends roughed to help it stick to the PVA glue, the middle joints I drill out to 4mm to allow for movement, the two outside edges are drilled out to 3.5mm, where the arms meet the shoulders I use 1 inch fence nails of the same diameter as the bright bar, body of the frog/gollifrog/doll are drilled to 3.5mm with a drop of PVA glue dripped in the hole and the arm drilled to 4mm for movement, I use nails because the nail head allows the arm to rotate without coming off if that makes sense Rog
  6. about ten miles today, spent a lot of my time watching the Red Arrows practicing, anyway got up towards Boothby Graffoe before heading back to Linga Lane Bassingham A few people walking along the shared cycle/footpath with their heads buried in their mobile phones, don't think they heard me ringing my bell because of some of the comments from them, "wow didn't you see me" and "you need to look where you're going" couldn't be bothered to give them an answer so I'll let them reflect on their day, anyway enjoyed the ride and the fresh air Rog
  7. That time of the year again when most of my hobbies are done in the shed as opposed to outside the shed so now I have made a start on this year batch of articulated wooden dolls/frogs/"Pudsey's", first to take shape will be the frogs/gollifrogs Hopefully they turn out as nice as these Rog
  8. Been to Lincoln today with Mrs P for her eye test after the cataract op in August, all good and now waiting for the next appointment at Louth hospital to get her other eye done, one thing I did notice while waiting for her in the city was the amount of foreign accents, as a rough guess I would say they outnumbered the English accent by about ten to one (seriously) Mainly not students but whole families including husbands, wives, grandparents, kids, to be honest I felt like a foreigner myself in my own country, I know this post will ruffle a few feathers but so what Rog
  9. Back from just over a week in Edinburgh so had the grass to cut and the bit of the field I strimmer, shopping done early this morning time for a sit down, catch up on emails and websites and just chill out, I notice quite a few words in that statement that either wasn't around when I was younger (chill out, emails, websites, strimmer) another sign of getting old Rog
  10. Excellent Barrie, a real talent, thanks for posting them Rog
  11. Female Sparrowhawk trying to shelter from the rain yesterday on my garden fence in front of the living room window, I took the picture through the window that's why it's not all that sharp [/ur Rog
  12. If you want to upset the neighbours get a couple of billies in your garden, bloody things stink Rog
  13. Thats what Mrs P does to me when I go off the rails, Rog
  14. Bloody heck Trogg, not the best of days, hopefully things will get better and you don't have such a big bill from the garage Rog
  15. Wasn't sure if the sights were a little off yesterday so Today I set a stick out in the field (with owners permission) at 30 yards and fired ten shots of "Air Arms" field 5.52 mm then ten shots of "Webley" Accupell 5.5mm then another ten of Air Arms, don't think I'll be buying any Webley Accupells anytime soon so Air Arms field look the best, the air pressure in the R10 was at 180 bar instead of the full charge of 232 bar for scale I set a 5 pence piece at the side of each group, far left is Air Arms, middle Air Arms and the right is Webley the wood is 1.5 inch x
  16. This is the light I had on my setup this morning, although the barn is open ended and is fairly light this set with the red filter make a massive difference in illuminating the area in the rafters, really impressed with it, it can either be switched on via the button at the back of the torch or via a cable fixed to the forend of the R10, not cheap but a brilliant bit of kit Rog
  17. I do hope so Ben, Bulwell is a great place, full of friendly people and smiling faces, although I've been left for over eighteen years I always manage to bump into old friends from years ago Rog
  18. Very misty this morning with fine drizzle very refreshing so decided to take the BSA R10 for a walk around the farm yard and introduce it to a few feral pigeons anyway while I was there I noticed the farmers bicycle up ended with a flat rear tyre so when I got home I decided to nip to Newark and pick up a new innertube and called into the farmyard on my way home to sort the puncture out, halfway through fitting the new tube the farmer turned up and we proceeded to have a good old chin wag and try to solve all the worlds problems, found out though that he has only managed to harvest about half
  19. Could only be a good thing for Bulwell but do you think with more people visiting for the shops/indoor market/outdoor market etc free car parking would cease and car park charges would have the same effect on Bulwell as they have on similar small towns ie: people using out of town retail parks and forgetting about the parent town? not being negative Ben but you see it happening all over the place these days Rog
