  1. Yes but isn't that to do with the alphabet?
  2. I listened on the radio Melissa, atmosphere sounded great.
  3. We can cope with that ........ Derby are below us.
  4. I'm pleased you found that article Carni because I was always under the impression that the fair wasn't held during those war years. It would have been inappropriate especially when so many were away fighting for our country.
  5. I'll let you have a go with mine then Rob, now you've practiced doing it, LOL
  6. Carni, # 14 ........ my hubby came back from walking the dogs in Bestwood this morning with a pocketful of chestnuts. He has a real obsession with nuts and it drives me mad listening to the nut-cracker. Even on holiday in S of France last week he was looking all the time for nuts, but as he didn't have his nut-crackers with him he was using a mallet that he found on the boat. Be glad when Christm ...... is over and gone for that reason!
  7. Not a problem for James Mellors, Katyjay. He has his fingers in the Beach on the Square too!
  8. What a horrible advert!
  9. Mmmm ........ I suppose it was always best to have that lot on your side!
  10. Have you seen the movie 'Something's Gotta Give' starring Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton then Catfan? If not you should, they email each other from different rooms, but you're possibly not into RomComs!!
  11. Sorry to hear of your plight Darkazana, 4 break-ins in a year must be very distressing for your dear old Mum. I know my Dad could not have coped with such trauma. He never locked his door until he went to bed, even in winter when it got dark at about 4pm. I eventually persuaded him to keep the doors locked at all times and we had to use a key to get in. He was housebound and could only move about with a Zimmer frame, if someone got into his house he could have done nothing at all about it. He had a buzzer thing round his neck but never ever used it, I think he was frightened to. These dreadf
  12. My son has flown to Sochi today ........ I don't think it will take him very long to learn "Morshna balshoy peeva pajalsta" !!
  13. Thanks Eric, you're brilliant! All sorted so there's no stopping me now!
  14. No BR, it's a nice day for the end of September, not Goose Fair weather at all !! Must admit though that I've put the central heating on to air the house out a bit.
  15. Thanks for the 'welcome back' Carni, I can't even give you a LIKE for the comment the way my Nottstalgia has gone! We've been in South of France on the Midi Canal. Rented a boat and cruised along the canal for a week, going through 66 locks which were all automated thank goodness, otherwise I'd have arms like Popeye now.
  16. Can one of the Admin. people sort out my Nottstalgia website. I've been away for a couple of weeks and have somehow messed it all up trying to get on for my daily fix using my iPhone, but it's the same on iPad and having just got home I find the same problem on the desktop computer. I have everything in blue and black instead of having our dear Robin and the Castle at the top of the front page. This happened before and Limey sorted it out quickly. Hope someone can get me back to what I can deal with again as I'm getting severe withdrawal symptoms. Thanks in anticipation!!
  17. Bryan, so pleased to see you posting again. We were thinking about you last week and delighted that all went well for you.
  18. Wonderful! Especially as my husband has always supported Fulham (being a Southerner). Well done you Reds!!!
  19. Welcome to Nottstalgia Criseliz, I'm sure they will be interest in your book from other Nottstalgians.
  20. Carni, I have had the same problem for the past two months. The last 'like' showing on my list is from you on 11th July and I've had lots since then, lucky aren't I ?!!! I can see them by doing what Cliff Ton suggested but don't know why the little thingy doesn't show up red. The envelope icon goes red when I have a PM though. Summat's up we it but suppose it's not a big problem really.
  21. I was away from Nottingham for 30 years Stu and during that period a lot changed in Arnold and all around the area, and not for the better either. I don't recall 'The Canny Scot', that must have been while I was in exile. Even when I lived in Arnold I spent little time on Front Street/High Street so my memories of the 50s, 60s and early 70s are not that vivid.
