  1. #5 But in Mondays Child rhyme, the child that is born on the Sabbath day is still bonny and blithe and good and gay. So the pc brigade haven't discovered a word that rhymes with day for that one yet!
  2. Brian Jones. I was 12 and met him at the Byron Cinema, Hucknall, when I took my younger brother to see The Jungle Book. Lasted for a few weeks, can't remember why we split. Then he turned up at my house on my 18th birthday/ engagement party looking for a girl who was at my party. Then had a message on friends reunited from him, probably about 10 years ago, he was moving to Retford not far from where I live. If you're reading this Brian, sorry you never got a reply on Friends Reunited but my membership had expired so would not send my reply to you!!! (I quit FR when my hubby and I remet on there
  3. The old ones are still the best!!
  4. First pets as a child were two ginger tabbies, Bimbo the mother and Tibby her son. Then came Lassie, a whippet cross alsatian who just appeared in our coal bunker one very wet Good Friday, was never claimed and by then was a member of the family. And so it goes on, numerous guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils and hamsters, plus two rats, another german shepherd cross (with Omani waddi dog...similar to a dingo), four cats, a patterdale, a greyhound, several ponies and a very special horse have all passed through my life. They have all left their mark and all still reside with me in spirit. No pets at

  6. To follow Carnis post, #24...... Roadside Litter of all kinds. It makes me feel so depressed when driving through beautiful countryside ruined by so much garbage. I daresay clearing it up is the first casualty of council cuts.
  7. Disrespect, bad manners, greed, intolerance, ingratitude, me me me attitude, selfishness, all the isms, labelling of badly behaved kids/people with something medical to excuse their bad behaviour...............grumpiness

  12. Anybody feel the effects of last nights earthquake in Rutland?
  13. I did an OND (ordinary national diploma) in hotel, catering and institutional management at college, instead of an HND (Higher...etc etc) as I didn't get the A levels required (too busy having fun in the 6th form!!) The OND did much more practical experience than the HND course and paid dividends for me. During my work experience between terms, I worked at the Savoy hotel in Nottingham in their grill bar along with an HND student. I made a small fortune, to me, in tips whereas the HND student lost that much in customers leaving without paying, simply because she wasn't on the ball and had not

  16. Another of the 70's songsters laid to rest. RIP Demis Roussos, When you get up there you will find Andrew has beaten you to it and once again is on the stage taking your plaudits. (My ex jumped up on stage once in Greece to take the applause as Demis Roussos was introduce!!!)
  17. Crab Apple and Rowan Jelly This is a Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall recipe and serves as a template for any number of hedgerow jellies, and if you can't get hold of crab apples, good old bramleys do just as well, the recipe scales up well according to the success of your foraging. If you are using juicy berries such as blackberries or elderberries you will need much less water to cook the fruit, just enough to start the juices running. 1kg rowan berries (or sloes, rosehips, haws, elderberries or a mixture) 1kg crab apples 1.5kg granulated sugar jelly bag (or muslin/teatowel and large seive)
  18. It is truly awful to watch someone you love suffer so much. It must have been a dreadful time for you all. Your dream could have been a precursor of things to come, or could have been that as a child you were for some reason feeling insecure at that time. All the notable things in your dream, mother, coat and grass are all protective symbols and perhaps subconsciously you were worrying about being left unprotected. Perhaps something was happening, or you sensed was happening, at that time that worried you. Recurring dreams indicate unresolved issues, or unexpressed emotions in your waking li
  19. Annie Holgate TG had green blazer (More apple green than bottle green) Lads had black trousers, white shirt and grey v neck pullover, tie was green turquoise and yellow. Poor girls had horrid turquoise peter pan collared blouse, bottle green skirt that must only be 1 inch above the knee and grey cardigan oh and a bottle green purse belt (still got that and the blazer) and you were for the high jump if you wore tights below the fifth year,,,,unless they were the thick grey wrinkly ones!!
  20. And I would like to add that it has not been a clam day for me at work today in the land of not so happy campers....waiting for it all to hit the fan tomorrow....but maybe that should go on Hows Your Day!!
  21. I often use the edit button and if I think something that I have said could be misconstrued then I add one of the emoticons, which can add humour to what could otherwise seem like a sharp retort. like this!!!!
  22. Some quick dream interpretations for you Lack of clothing: You may be apprehensive about revealing your true feelings about something and are afraid of being ridiculed or disgraced. You could be feeling vulnerable about something. Fear in a dream: this can depict a resistance to change, that you are afraid to confront unknown aspects about yourself, or that you are experiencing anxieties in your life, which obviously your were then Margie and it made such an impact on your life that you still feel that fear. Maze: This can represent life's twists and turns. It shows indecision, confusion, f
