  2. Totally agree about him getting a kicking in prison the only problem is that for some reason the prison has a responsibility of care towards the b&£;<+*&d so he will be put in isolation to protect him from backlash metered out by prisoners who rightly are sickened by his actions, so at the end of the day he is given better protection than than the children he decided to abuse over god knows how many years. Chinas Supreme Court are considering introducing the death penalty for some cases of child sex abuse. To harsh or does the punishment fit the crime

  8. Hi basfordred My dad had a1973 2ltr straight 6 with overdrive in third and 4th and apart from a knackered rear drive shaft universal joint and a dodgy electrical connection to the overdrive unit it was a great car and turned out to be a great tow car for our caravan too. That electrical overdrive system was quite advanced for the year too. I think Triumph's problems started when they introduced the prototype fuel injection system

  13. Hi Poohbear I remember 20 odd years ago you when you showed me that small depressed parrot that you had adopted that managed to pull out all its own feathers what ever happened to him? I also recall you telling me about the very small parrot you had as a child that would follow you everywhere. Do you still have the outdoor aviaries like the ones you had in Arnold?

  15. you rattled a lot of grey cells with this forum. I remember doing DC/AC change overs in the Meders and St.Annes on t.v's that had never seen AC and big smoothing electrolytic capacitors blowing up in the sets!! Every body was there from the Lecy board changing over cookers toasters, kettles and water heaters and anything that used electric. Not many power points in them days, most things plugged into the light socket with a 2 way adaptor. We were never not busy what with all the thousands of t.v s that were changed over and having your normal breakdowns to deal with as well. Hope you don't mi
  16. About 25 years ago I worked for a company which was owned by a parent company. After a couple of years I was made redundant with no offer of payoff. 10 years later I was somehow traced to my new employer by a solicitor working on behalf of people who were made redundant at the same time as I was 15 years earlier it transpired these claimants qualified for a payoff as when they were made redundant they had worked there a great deal longer than I had. I received a letter from this solicitor informing me that although I had only worked for this particular company for two years I had a valid cl

  18. These incompetent bafoons chase the common hard working individuals for insignificant amounts, when the ones they should be chasing are those cheating MP's who use every loophole they can to avoid paying the very taxes they invent to fleece every hard working honest individual that inadvertantly voted them into office in the first place.
  19. It has to be 1983 for me, I had a great apprenticeship, my childhood sweetheart Helen my first car 1965 Moggy 1000, and money in my pocket what a great year. 20. Hi rob I understand what your saying but do you think Arnold could ever get back to the vibrant place that it once was,
  21. My wife and I were both born and bought up in Arnold and one of the great things about Arnold was its variety of shops and eateries, then gradually shops started to close to be replaced by charity shops, money lending establishments, amusement arcades and bookies shops even the once vibrant market has lost its appeal. I was told that the reason for the mass exodus was down to massive increases in rents and rates on the properties. Arnold was once such a vibrant place to live, work and shop. To add insult to injury I've been told that what remaining shoppers have stayed loyal to the depleting
