  1. Good. Since I put that on here I have had another look on PTP and most of those pictures on the YouTube video are there. Having said that there are now a lot more pictures on PTP of St Anns than last time I looked.
  2. I don't seem to have permission to use either link
  3. I shall be pleased to see it back where it should be! RAF Cockpit Green isn't specifically a Spitfire colour. It was used on most RAF aeroplanes of the era. I have just been looking through a British Standards colour chart but it isn't named as cockpit green although other RAF colours are. There are greens on the chart that look to me like cockpit green but I have nothing accurate to match too. Any paint factor should be able to mix it to the code provided on the colour chart
  4. I went in on Wednesday and that was my impression too. Not enough stock and too expensive.
  5. I use an ML7 and there is no problems with it. The can be a bit 'flexible' if doing some serious turning jobs though. I also have a 5" Atlas (American) which is a very strong lathe. I just don't like it.
  6. The birds had probably more sense than to go there
  7. Last night talking to GJK about St Anns he mentioned a video made of still pictures. The majority of these are not on Picture the Past - or at least I haven't seen them on there. I think this is the one he was referring to:
  8. Talking about St. Anns to GJK and others last night reminded me that earlier yesterday I had been in the loft at home and stumbled across this advert on the back of one of my stash of old Model Engineers, (twice monthly magazine and still going) this one dating from 1953. The company started out on Raglan Street St. Anns and later by way of expansion moved to Raleigh Street. These lathes are still quite highly regarded. Being a bit into model engineering myself I shall be looking for one of these soon as they do come up for sale from time to time. The company was eventually bought by Myfords
  9. Been buying myself from China and better still Hong Kong for a long time and had no problems. I don't have any issues with doing so either being as most of what you but in this country is made there anyway. Incidentally it is and auction Snipe tool not snip. If you use it you are a sniper!
  10. Just needs Robin Hood really
  11. Strange. It was Ye Hole in Ye Wall last time I walked past it and it wasn't THAT long ago. I usually park up North Sherwood Street when going into town with a vehicle
  12. Pleased its not just me that thought that that pub was the Cream Horn. I wouldn't have been first to admit it though
  13. Just what I was hoping you would do! Thanks.
  14. Like the one of the Class 158. At first I thought it was abandoned in a field being used as someones abode!
  15. Where was Pym Street in relation to Ford Street St. Mary? I know where Ford Street was in relation to Turner Street. Can never find a map when I want one.
  16. I remember Pearsons and Henry Farmer - the music bit next door. The old guy that used to work in the record dept. at least as far back as the 60's, whom I know, is still alive and living in Sawley. He must be a good age now.
  17. I'd be interested to know. I have actually set the job up with the speakers that I originally started this thread on. I bought (cheaply) a s/h Philips amp which is very good and powers everything, and have added a CD player under the telly to run from it. Downside is that there's speakers everywhere.
  18. Judging by your speelling the effects haven't worn off yet! hic!
  19. I always got a 'flea in me ear' for calling water watter
  20. Someone has just posted this on me Facebook page: http://www.chad.co.uk/news/local/17-words-and-phrases-you-would-only-ever-hear-in-nottinghamshire-1-6965229
  21. No you are correct about that one. He escaped from Swanwick POW Camp and was caught at Hucknall trying to steal a Hurricane. There was film made about him. Was his name von Werra or something like that? Wasn't the POW camp somewhere nearer Watnall Brickyard? Seems to ring a bell somewhere
