  1. #15 Cliff, ditto (also not quite mine, but my late father in laws........but does it matter?) I think you personally do a marvellous job sourcing photographs and maps for others to enjoy and benefit, this site would be at a loss if you left. You certainly earn your moderators salary. BTW I still owe you a pint for helping me out on many occasions
  2. Cliff, your photo certainly is a better picture of the chippy.
  3. 1973 Chip Shop corner of Arkwright Street/Summer Street
  4. What a sad loss for the for the world of photography. Your uncle was an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others with a passion in photography. His photography was quite brilliant and honest, over the years it's his style I tried to copy. My sincere condolences on your sad loss.
  5. Pearsons Parliament Street. Washing Machine Department photo taken in 1969
  6. As promised swe62, photo of Geo.Sands yard taken in 1968. Let me know if you want anymore uploading
  7. #15, I do recall Cliff Ton and as I said at the time I was once again very grateful for you getting me out of a mess, It's just that your post #11 inferred to me that my photos were still coming from your photobucket account, obviously I got it wrong, sorry. BTW my post of #2 was purely in jest, no offence intended. It is of no real consequence to me if I do or don't get any 'Likes'. It's what I get from this site and what I can give back to this site are the important things to me.
  8. Cliff Ton, What do you mean half my photos off your Photobucket? Am I uploading my photos onto your photobucket in error?
  9. #8, Benjamin, Maybe because we are Bestwood Lads
  10. #2, Now I know Cliff Ton why you have never given me a 'Like'
  11. Just like Chulla I also like the wisteria plant, this photo taken yesterday in my garden
  12. #41..There's no need to apologise on my behalf, I'm the one who got it totally wrong so I hope you will accept my apologies Fly2 for overreacting. Having read Katyjay's post #36 I realised my comment to you was totally unjustified and out of order making me feel very foolish. Unfortunately it is one of my many faults, the lack of ability to understand that not all comments are either in black or white.
  13. #32, You have already said you only look at threads of interest to you so why make such a stupid comment when somebody has gone to the time and trouble to take and upload photographs which may or may not interest others.
  14. You are a bit of a globe trotter Lizzie, Caribbean, south of France, USA, England......is there anywhere you haven't lived? You make me feel that l have never left the nest!
  15. #11, radfordred As relatively new to Nottstalgia l am glad you and others resurrect old threads, Some of the old topics that have been resurrected l would never had known existed as l find the search facility on this site a little unreliable, so please keep it up.
  16. Thank you sussexred for clearing that up, that's the one on Bramcote Lane, never went to the one on Church Street.
  17. 1970 Rear of the Talbot Inn, Nottingham Road, Mansfield. Shipstones PH

  19. Another photo from the Vale of Belvoir
  20. Another photo taken in the Vale of Belvoir
  21. #5 You got a bargain at £30 Benjamin. I bought mine over 25 years ago and it set me back over £200.
  22. #2 Totally agree with you Benjamin. I have still got my Crombie, hand stitched edge, mixture of cashmere and wool. Still wear it, a classic design that will never age.
