  1. Great photos, taken at 6 in the morning so not usually a busy time.
  2. I do Oz and I can remember the locust style of walking of those affected in the 50's series... The 70's not so much.
  3. Seem Boris is now a victim, Don't think much to him as a man but like anyone else with the virus I hope he recovers.
  4. I read (the American CDC report), that it could move from pandemic to endemic, the same as flu, a while back and the virus may mutate and return time and again. Not a pleasant thought that like our flu jabs we can only develop a vaccine retrospectively which will offer little to no protection against any new strain. On a different note I'm amazed at the little things we buy and use almost without thinking. We need a dozen small sundries that cannot be described as essential, but life gets tedious without them. Normally it's a quick nip to B&Q or Screwfix etc. but not any more.
  5. I thought about the weather this morning, it's beautiful out at the moment and far too nice to be stuck indoors. Most of us I think have an outside area we can access without 'going out' but those who live in flats, especially tower blocks must be feeling a little claustrophobic by now. The temptation to break the rules will be quite strong I suspect. I'm concerned that if the quarantine continues into the Summer and we have a heatwave the domestic violence will increase along with divorces, especially now alcohol is an essential food item. I said to Dee "I'm bored shall we go
  6. DA I was going to suggest a reset/reboot to factory setting but RR beat me to it. There are plenty of YT videos showing how it's done,
  7. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like MD. I hope it ends well and you are soon reunited...
  8. That's true CT, this Covid is having all sorts of unexpected effects. At the moment I,m desperately struggling with an almost overwhelming desire to go outside and jetwash the patio!
  9. He said: "If I’m elected leader, I’ll bring the movement together and I’ll retain the radicalism of the last four years." Did he not learn anything from the last election? Maybe this should be elsewhere...
  10. How so if the village has been locked down for some time now?
  11. 16 miles in 5 hrs! Bloody 'ell you must be like the proverbial butchers dog...
  12. If they don't maybe these will... https://www.pharmacy2u.co.uk/prescriptions/electronic-prescription-service-nhs May be of use to you and it's free...
  13. That's what I meant by wooly and ill thought out, there are just too many holes in the SD idea. Tubes still running, trains still running the Channel Tunnel is still open!
  14. I see your predicament Col but in extremis call a taxi? No crowd, no queue and quicker. We have a different problem. The lease on the Fiesta is up end of this month and the car showroom has closed for the duration. The plan was for a new car but that's not going to happen now and phones are not being answered it seems...
  15. Actually I don't think so. They already have online sales of 'special buys' so extending to the rest of the products is not that difficult. No need for a delivery fleet simply forward orders to the local shop and they organise delivery. Each shop will not need to serve customers so will have plenty of space and staff for order assembly, become a small warehouse in effect... Sitting here, under Manchester flight, path two planes have just passed overhead so some airlines are still going...
  16. I don't believe the Chinese created a weaponised virus at all. If they did it would not need an animal intermediary and would go straight for the target. The accidental release into the wild of an experimental virus I can believe. The Americans releasing one? nah not even Trump is that stupid. It's rubbish beside the fact they would have a vaccine for their own people, if it was true, before they released it. The Italian story I don't know, it's so new no one recognised it for quite some time so it may well have been around for a lot longer than we know about. What I wo
  17. This is only hypothetical. I appreciate it's difficult arranging a home delivery however nothing says you can't order from multiple sources. Timed deliveries would end, they're too restrictive and customer are not going to be out so will not miss the delivery. Homebargains/ Poundland would be like any other food shop - closed and delivery of food only. Shops, like your chemist, who do not offer deliveries would be made to do so, or close. No vans? with the travel restrictions in place there will be hundreds of taxis doing nothing. Hard line her
  18. Hmm good question. Ground all non military aircraft Stop all inter city trains Close ALL businesses not essential Close all underground stations Close motorways to all except emergency and utility services. Goods vehicles with essential supplies would also be allowed No exercising, going without for three weeks won't hurt you Food shopping done online, phones if you don't have internet, social services for those who fall outside the net. Meds delivered to door, no collecting from chemist Introduce a curfew I see no good reason for Halfo
  19. Enjoy nonna, you deserve it...
  20. Me'nall but bored out me brains enni. Don't normally go out much do I but nah I can't I wanna do stuff, know what I mean...
  21. Fine in the round but how do we travel to work and maintain SD? Who HAS to go to work if they are not part of the essential services? Why only close retailers? are factories and their workers immune? "We are asking the businesses and premises and other venues outlined above not to open for trade from close of trade 23 March 2020. The Government will look again at these measures in three weeks, and relax them if the evidence shows this is possible. Compliance" (UK/GOV) …. Asking? The title of the instrument is - 'Further businesses a
  22. I fully expected him (Boris) to declare a state of emergency during tonight's broadcast but he stopped just short. Not too sure of the legal ramifications of disobeying unless they can use the public order act. The exceptions he's named for those that can go out seem a bit wooly and ill defined.
  23. Holding a gun licence I can tell you he's very foolish to make a joke like that. I can see it's an air pistol but the police take a dim view of such things. Anyway Boris is going to address the nation at 20:30, the screw I suspect is about to be turned..
  24. What the hell is he doing waving a gun about? No wonder people were willing to give him something... I hope it was meant to be funny...
