  1. There is undoubtedly a far right element in the Tory Party at which is influencing policy. The fact that they have either successfully hoodwinked, or gained the agreement of, an electoral majority, does not make them right. If you think about it does. If something is not mandated in law then anything the majority believe or agree with makes it right. The Tories have moved more towards Thatcher’s ideal of giving the people more choice. It was a euphemism for privatising everything she could lay her grubby hands on but whether they were successful or had expertise is debata
  2. I've only ever been to one once. Nice young lady who trimmed my nails, filed the hard skin round my heels finished with a nice oiled foot rub and sent me merrily on my way with ***! verrucae! By the time I realised I had it it was well established and a bugger to get rid of. Needless to say I've not returned.
  3. The first kiss with my dearly beloved actually wasn't a kiss at all. After meeting by the Lion with my best friend and her best friend we went in the Flying Horse and a riotous night where we all drank far to much. She wanted to try a Pimms No1 which came in a half pint dimple glass with what looked like a a small fruit farm thrown in it. Slurp swish gone, that was nice can I another?... Eventually it was home time and acting like a gentleman I walked her to the bus station and cuddled up on the seat in Huntingdon Street for that first hesitant magical kiss... Except just as we were a
  4. 3 hours ago, Stavertongirl said: The above was very interesting, some of the figures are quite eye watering especially those who are paid in one day three quarters of what I get in a year. Where can I sign on as a consultant? -------------------------- Except it's wrong. The strap line: ' Bypassing the NHS and handing crucial services to corporate executives has led to the catastrophic failure of test and trace' Is a scurrilous, overblown smear. a few posts ago Col posted a Pinkfish link that told of the NHSX spending millions of pounds trying to c
  5. I've brought quite a few headlamp lenses and motorbikes screens back to near new condition with 50/50 Tcut and water.
  6. Right hand side council house Lion on a blind date. Apparently she new after three weeks we would marry, took me almost two years to reach the same conclusion...
  7. Of course we act accordingly but it will be of no use if others have no concern and wish to carry on as per usual. Covid is turning out to be as divisive as Brexit
  8. And your point? I'm not following...
  9. I find that dying from Covid-19 because some idiots can't go without pouring ale down their neck offensive. I find the implied suggestion that because the the most dangerous age is 80+ ( but the average age of death from the virus is 82.), therefore it wont matter if they die, offensive. I find your suggestion that we have no resposibility or moral obligation toward our fellow man offensive. I find the idea of the NHS being overwhelmed because we took the brakes off just so some can go get sunburned, offensive You're concerned about cancelled hospital appointments?

  11. Your figure is a little out of date Lizzie. 0.01% is 700,000. In round firgures well over a million have died and still rising even with all the control measures in place. Without control the figure is estimated to be at least double. One prediction puts the figure as high as 40.000.000 https://ourworldindata.org/covid-deaths#what-is-the-total-number-of-confirmed-deaths
  12. What a wonderful example of modern altruism. I'll give you some stats and let you decide how many 'many' is. Compared to 18 - 29yrs control group 30 - 39. 4 times more deaths 40 - 49. 10 times 50 - 64. 30 times 65 - 74. 90 times 75 - 84. 220 times 85+ 630 times These mean times more likely to die from a covid infection than those in the control group. But of course you're right, if someone dies after being infected by don't know, don't care merchants it's their own damn fault, after all such people are easily indentifi
  13. I know not all PF is a hotbed of socialism and I did actually say “the Forum topic”, in order to clarify I do not judge all the membership to be the same, it is to those residents of the 'off topic' I give the sobriquet ‘Far Left’. As for what I choose to see that’s down to you and whatever you choose to share through the links you post. Everything so far has been little more than a virtual orgy of Tory bashing. Labour is a social democrat party. It co-exists with Capitalism and operates within the UK Democratic and Electoral system That is not 'Far Left' You are w
  14. Jim, you really must try to stop typifying Pinkfish as either hysterical or far left. Col you really must open your eyes to the fact that the forum topic you so admire is about as far left as it’s possible to go. You, I seem to remember denied Corbyn was far left, you were wrong then, you’re wrong now. The members posts I have read come across as lefty malcontents bolstering each other’s ego in little more than a mutual admiration society. True there are some intelligent posts, though references to the “starving North” or “pushing Northerners into serfdom” is going a bit fa
  15. I thought they would only add to the confusion...
  16. Though Margie's fingers twitched she gave you the answer. In math n can be any number. The original question is - add in sequence the numbers from 1 to 100 Let n = 100. The formula is 1/2n x n+1 substitute numbers for n gives - 1/2 of 100 x 100+1 - thus: 50 x 101 = 5050
  17. How does it sound? OK by me ... it's wrong but hey if you're happy who am I to argue...
  18. Typical Pinkfish hysteria and carefully selected in order to present the worst case scenario. There is no mention of: Uniserve who were highly successful. Draeger, a German multi-national, again successful. Dnanudge, a British company who introduced the 90 minute test. Hologic a USA medical company specialising in women’s health and supporting the testing program. Brake Bros and BFS group - delivering food boxes. None of these are mentioned because they worked but don't align with the Pinkfools anti-Tory dogma. Randox - No one has sa

  20. Are you sure? I don't know. If true there is a certain young man on reception that's going to get an earful...!
  21. When my Mercs ran out of warranty I've used both those Lizzie. The guy with the ponytail at the Basford garage sorted my Mercedes Brabus out in minutes where Lenton lane failed.
  22. Denshaw, they don't stamp a book now, the service record is online and only main dealers have access apparently.
  23. My car is overdue a 'B' service, on time, not mileage. Quote from Inchcape Nottingham - almost a thousand pounds. Basically all it involves is oil, filters, a visual inspection and a 20 second poor quality video clip, oh and they wash it for me..
