  1. I have received a £100 voucher from Laithwaites Wine on a 12 bottle case of wine, I last used them 3 years ago when I had a £75 voucher for the same. Being a non drinker I used it for a Christmas present for my eldest son, guess what he his having for this Christmas.
  2. Carni my eldest son was tested positive and he had very few symptoms, his wife and son were negative but had to isolate. He was isolated in his bedroom his wife used to place food outside his door and so controlled his diet. He had to eat healthily for 14 days before he came out his bedroom, his wife heard him go down stairs and make a cup of tea in the middle of the night , next day a kettle was out side his door. He is one for eating junk food crisps and other treats he tried to bribe his son to place some outside his door but no luck, his daughter, daddies girl would have but she is at Un
  3. Thinking of you Carni and your hubby, sorry I forgot his name , take care and get well soon, you are needed for the choir , just think of those cakes that need eating and you will soon be up and about again.
  4. Nonna dont worry about hugs and kisses my eldest granddaughter and son went off it for a few years but now they are 23 and 19 we dont see them very often but when we do gran gets hugs every time she sees them. But grandson who towers above her makes her stand on tip toes before she receives a kiss.
  5. See what I mean I always get up to mischief when the wife lets me loose , only been gone 2 days and I am going to a Bar Stool meetup dancing and drinking with many others including young ladies wearing stilettos. If only.
  6. Forgot about the dancing, back to the drawing board. I don’t think trainers will be acceptable.
  7. Ben with the others pulling up stools is sounds like a great meetup, anymore pulling up a stool we can all have a good natter and put the world right.
  8. I was hoping for ideas from Ben, I thought of a bar and dancing but they are all closed. Takeaway coffees dont hit the mark and drinking beer on a public bench isnt my idea of mischief, there must be a conspiracy against me. Its so long since she has trusted me on my own I have forgot what to do, other than go for a walk and see who I can talk to.
  9. A week of mischief for me, I hoped, the wife is staying with her sister for a week due to her sisters medical problem. After numerous phone calls last night it appears all of my friends are not up to it , so I am looking around the house and garden trying to find things to do, I am not use to making decisions on what I am supposed to do in the house, so it looks like I will be in the garden all the time. I have a feeling she doesnt trust me as she accidently has my credit card with her. So it will be a week of gardening and walking whilst dreaming of pleasures I could of had. Hope i
  10. I believe one way would be to click on edit and delete all of the post , then type in a word or two such as sorry wrong post and then post again.
  11. I have 28 days being told what I have done wrong in the last 53 years.
  12. My mother wishes she stuck to two boys. She had 3 , oops I nearly forgot she had 7 daughters as well. As one of the three boys it was a chore having 7 sisters.
  13. I wish, I must calm down think of my blood pressure. Jill I am lucky Mrs Trogg never reads any of my posts, she considers anything I say or write irrelevant.
  14. The gel works on my knee and leg especially good when I have done too much, well worthwhile buying it.
  15. The map looks like it is from https://www.old-maps.co.uk if you go to the site you can click onto earlier maps and find out what was there in previous years.
  16. Beekay my wife and myself are being the same, not to the extent as yourselves but we havent left the house for 3 weeks now. Before that we went out but masks have been worn all the time, plenty of gel used and clothes steamed when we returned. The wife has a lung condition and has emergency antibiotics in the house as our GP believes she has little chance of surviving a full blown lung infection. Usually she is ill with lung problems at least 3 times a year since March she hasnt had one, so the precautions work. These actions make us feel safer and thats what matters to us.
  17. I have always had an interest in maps, I have added a link below to one that I often use , it has maps going back to the 1800s and you can see how different areas have gradually changed over the years. https://www.old-maps.co.uk/
  18. How many in the present climate are using mental health as an excuse for not adhering to the corona rules. The same type of people when the slightest thing happens to them run to the media claiming they are traumatised.
  19. Thanks for that CT a much clearer map , I can see my map on Nottstalgia and I havent done anything onPostimage, as I said my skills are limited. I can browse the internet and visit Amazon regularly which is as much as I need. When my laptop goes its own way my grandson sorts it out for me.
  20. Ben I will try and make them a bit larger in future , but new tech and me dont go together , remember I am a Trogg.
  21. I have attached 2 lists of roads in Bestwood Estate with the residents names from 1953, I think 2 of our members families are on these lists. They may have memories of these people, I am sure some of them were characters and memories like these should not be forgotten. I have the disc with most streets in Nottingham if anybody wants me to post them .
  22. DJ it appears you misspent your early years in the same places as me. I had several friends who lived on Hempshill Lane and Buckingham Road, one of them on the right hand side of the lane next to the railway Bridge. We often drank in the Lord Nelson we had to be careful in there as my mates dad was a regular in there. Further up the Lane was the coffin makers factory where another friend worked, did you ever walk all the way up the lane and onto the Three Ponds at Nuthall on summer evenings and also spend time at the Bulwell youth Club. Such great memories of our youth. I have attached a
