CT, that building to which you refer, isn't that the one where you could buy snooker cues, among other things? I'm only guessing, as it was back in 1963 ish when I bought mine. Went down there with a mate ( Alan Roberts) from Bilborough depot.

I wear a flat cap Ben, and I love it. Paid a lot for it. Heard all the comments like "Peaky Blinders, Andy Capp etc. All in good humour though. I don't care, I love me cap.

About 1954/5 ish, I'm reasonably sure that one penny charge was only on a Sunday. A group of us went with next doors older girls, Helen and Mauriel to spend an afternoon up there. We carried a wind up record player and handful of 50s 78rpm records. The player was like carrying a cabin trunk and the discs were like 12" plates.
