mickbam 0
20 odd years ago we moved to Ravenshead with my job. Always believed that my family was a true Yorkshire lot but last year discovered that my side of the Bamford family originate from Notts, Radford and Basford mainly and were as you would expect involved in the lace industry. I get the impression from the addresses they lived at that we were not included in the Nottingham Rich List of the time as the areas seem to have been part of the 60's clearance programme presumably meaning slums? My Grandfather who I knew very little about moved to Doncaster after WW1 to work at Brodsworth Colliery and it was in Doncaster that my Dad was born, sadly my Grandfather died when I was 5 and my Dad died when I was 10 so I have very few living relatives to ask about our history. Anyway I look forward to perusing the site and asking the odd question Regards Mick Bamford
