philmayfield 6,231
Just had notice that a hugh light brown cat with three foot body and similar tail has been spotted in the ponds area of the village carrying a coot in its mouth. Police have been notified and people warned to keep children away from the area. Great excitement. Just going to get my gun as first line of defence. Is the silly season finally here?

plantfit 7,665
We have a Large Spotted Cat come to visit the garden sometimes Rog
philmayfield 6,231
It's been spotted but it's not spotted if you see what I mean. We're cat lovers, we have 4 so not going to shoot it other than in self defence if it attacks us or our cats!
Deepdene Boy 642
Reminds me of the alleged sightings of a big cat in the Edwalton area back in the summer of 1976.
Cliff Ton 10,519
Is that the same as this one ? https://nottstalgia.com/forums/topic/7257-tollerton-lion/
MargieH 7,617
In this area we have had sightings over the past 40 years of the 'fen tiger' which is supposed to actually be a puma. When they were young, our two boys and their friends used to go out cycling on the fen roads looking for it - very exciting
philmayfield 6,231
Just been e mailed by the parish council and they appear to be in a state of high alert regarding the "cat". Good to know that we've got people out there to protect us. Our large ginger cat has a smile on its face but I can't find any coot feathers.
Deepdene Boy 642
Cliff Ton, yes that's the one. I was only 10 at the time and for all these years I have believed it was the Edwalton area rather than Tollerton.

philmayfield 6,231
The "Bleasby Cat" is, allegedly, uniformly beige, without markings. Sounds like a fox to me. No further sightings so I think we can sleep safely in our beds tonight!
