How's your day?

Ciao Nonna, my airfryer is one of the best buys I've ever made. I bought a small 1.5lt single drawer last September and we've never used our full sized cooker since. About two months ago I upgraded to a Tower pro airfryer/oven which has the advantage of thre shelves and a rotisserie, ( although not tried that yet). Can honestly say I've not looked back or regretted it. I still use the smaller one if just doing a few fries etc., but the bigger one I've done pork and gammon joints in to perfection. Still got to try baking in it yet. Might try biscuits or muffins etc. Remember, if you can cook it in an oven then it can be done in an airfryer. X

Thanks Barrie my husband has just rung me with video call and showing me what he’s found. Can’t tell what’s what so we’ll both go this afternoon to look. He said it’s a 4in 1 so let’s see.

Be aware Nonna, there are things that you shouldn't do in an airfryer. For example don't try dipping anything in batter as that will just drip through the tray, nor soups which could splash up onto the element.  They're not microwaves or deep fat fryers. If you use greaseproof or parchment paper as a liner, make sure you weight it down so the fan cannot blow it up into the element. At least you can put foil wrapped foods in. Of course, it cooks in a fraction of the time, ( whatever time is on the directions, you can subtract 10% ).

NB. Since having both machines, Tina has not cooked since !

I didn't name em Phil., I just quote whatever it says on the box. As you correctly state, it's a table top fan oven. Does bloody good chips though.

Since I’m not sure what I’m looking for what exactly does it do? Oven, airfryer, microwave , steam cook etc. They don’t make Tower brand here. My husband saw a whirlpool this morning but it only cooks one thing not 3 can I ask you to send a pic? Do you mind?

I remember you and Alex as proper chefs. You don’t need these newfangled, modern, labour saving gadgets at your age!

Less of the “at your age” it’s not so much a gadget it’s because we already have an airfryer which we use frequently so as not to use the main oven. I was just interested in the context of putting a few things in the oven at the same time even though they should be cooked at different temperatures and times. Not sure though.

Our air fryer has two compartments which can cook at different temperatures and times and it can be programmed so they finish simultaneously.

That’s interesting Phil what make is it. We looked earlier in Media world and they said those sort of fryers/ ovens don’t exist here.

It’s an Instant Vortex Plus. It came from John Lewis. Air fryers were difficult to get hold of at the time as everyone wanted to join the craze. We don’t use ours anymore!

We don’t have John Lewis here either. We had visitors from UK last week and passing ours in the kitchen my niece said everyone in Scotland had them.

@benjamin1945how the years fly by eh?  I’ve not seen you since before you went through all of that but you’ve done brilliantly and never lost your sense of humour, even in your blackest days.
It’s 6 years today since I had my ‘Stoma Reversal’ and still getting ‘Imodium’ on prescription!
