Brew just read your post it's funny out some people don't like jeans? When green bowling in summers gone by if ever you went into a Nott's comp you had to wear all white, well at the time i could not get to the bowls shop to buy any ladies white trousers  having a pair of white jeans i put these on, Fine? till I was playing on the green, then one of the ladies from the team complained. That was it I was  Banned off the green. Why don't people live and let live any one would have thought I was playing for the world. not Nottinghamshire.

Moved into our new home today,,now sat quietly apart from a little jig when the music of Dr Hook gets too much to sit still, The site seems to have got back to its friendly ways,,so I'm back,,

Reminds me of the time when I was teaching at a school in Lincolnshire. Every Friday lunchtime, several of us went to the local golf club for lunch as one of my colleagues was married to a golf club member.  They had a smart dress, no jeans policy.

One inset day, we'd been turfing out rubbish and other items that were no longer needed. I'd gone to school dressed in jeans as I wasn't getting glammed up to throw out rubbish.  It was decided to have lunch at the golf club and I knew they wouldn't let me in dressed the way I was. Since they knew I went there regularly, they wrapped a tablecloth sarong around my waist and told me to keep my legs under the table!! Rules are meant for bending, sometimes.

I was bumbling around on the web and found a listing of songs that are 50 years old this year….

Here are a few of my favourites. Of course you will notice no Elton John or David Bowie as I can’t stand them.

Tiger Feet – Mud

Jolene – Dolly Parton

Sunshine on my Shoulders – John Denver

Devil Gate Drive – Suzy Quatro

The Air That I Breathe – The Hollies

Piano Man – Billy Joel

Sundown – Gordon Lightfoot

Band on the Run – Paul McCartney and Wings

Waterloo – Abba

Annie’s Song – John Denver

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynryd

You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet – Bachman Turner Overdrive

Streets of London – Ralph McTell

@mary1947, in respect of your post above, the ladies are accompanied by a group called Celtic Thunder. They are brilliant ! As soon as I go on my pc I will post some of their music. At present I am listening to favourite movie themes in 16D, with headphones on, while I compile more questions for my quiz night in April.
