What year was that taken Nick?

The OCP changed to a few stores over the years. including the Disney Store

It retained a sign saying Old Corner Pin, but the last time I passed it had gone!

The site was occupied by a shop selling fur coats and the like (its name eludes me)...

Wasn't it The Canadian Fur Company?

Cheers

The crane could also be on the site of the Fountain pub, there was quite a deep hole there after demolition.

Do we know the year the picture was taken?

Looking at the cars would suggest early 80s, the building with the crane is the old Boots shop at the bottom of Pelham Street, where it meets high Street . If you look closely you can see the scaffolding and the contrectors logo.

Not been a Disney store for years. It's now a Nationwide Building Society branch.

Just shows how much notice I take of buildings nowadays. Most shops in town these days are featureless uninviting establishments.

This boozer had its oddities...which included my neighbour who( cleaned?)

the pub for beer..don't recall a snug...but some old ladies supped away regardless.

Pints in halfs..i do recall.

A bit like The Wilberforce that had no top shelf..no spirits!

You'd need a few wackers of brandy to get an atmosphere going.

Used to pop in there for one on a Friday night after checking out Coleman's on Maypole Yard.
