poohbear 1,360
Much to the relief of that end house I should imagine... No idea.
jackson 301
Ashley, what an incredible view: Newfield Road. The houses tumbling down the road and the train cutting across the suburban landscape. I can easily imagine you climbing up the steep embankment. How lucky you were to visit one of the houses, I would have done too with trains running down the bottom of the garden! It's the kind of photograph you never get tired of looking at, you can always find something new.

Cliff Ton 10,479
Stu is close enough (closer than Wembley anyway) Today it looks like this http://maps.google.c...,73.35,,0,-0.36 If you zoom out of the Streetview image you'll find you are at the back of the City Ground

mudgie49 401
Yeah, that's why I put Wembley. Have you had a curry in the Sagar lately denshaw?
denshaw 2,874
No never been in Saagar, the Viceroy is near me but not keen on it.
Cliff Ton 10,479
Any takers on this location? It's one I took about 10/12 years ago and I've just looked on Streetview; the whole embankment is much more overgrown now. For a clue - I was standing in the middle of a road (left to right on this photo) and I would have been under a long-demolished bridge with the railway going above me
.... 23
Near Hucknall Road?
Beefsteak 305
Got to be where the Nottingham suburban leaves the mainlne near the big block of flats in Sneinton on Colwick Road (camera pointing north (ish))
Cliff Ton 10,479
That didn't take long! Beefsteak is correct. The photo shows the right-hand embankment of this bridge And behind me when I took the original was this .....and I'm surprised to see on Streetview that the pub no longer exists
Ashley 288
The Ginger Tom demolished many years ago,
Beefsteak 305
The "Ginger Tom" has been gone a few years now, (Not sure if it went before I left Nott'm , but it may have been that long ago!) I only recognised it as it's was always one of those "One day I'm going to climb up there and see what I can see" places, when passing on the bus, that sadly never did and now never will get done !
