Commo 1,292
First TV shows I remember watched on the only telly in the neighbourhood was Whirlygig on a Saturday afternoon with the main puppet being Mr Turnip, voiced by Humphrey Lestoq. Coincidentally, Antiques Road Show last week had a Mr Turnip puppet in original box, valued at some amazing price, was it about £800?
Compo 10,328
That reminds me.....what about "Whirlybirds". That must have been early 60s too.

alisoncc 379
When we got our first telly used to dash home from school at lunch to watch Emergency Ward 10. Used to enjoy Sunday Night at the Palladium, Dixon of Dock Green and the Black and White Minstrel Show. Remember a series with Robby the Robot, possibly Lost in Space, but not sure. tomlinson 879
Don't forget a variety of intermissions and programmes made by Hans & Lotte Hass. Some of the programmes are relatively recent but it does demonstrate it's about time Coronation Street was knocked on the head!
Merthyr Imp 729
Don't forget a variety of intermissions and programmes made by Hans & Lotte Hass. They were the underwater wildlife programmes, weren't they? And on land it was Armand & Michaela Dennis. Zoo Quest with David Attenborough is going back a bit as well.
