  1. I actually do not like any the aforementioned so called entertainers. They really all rile me.
  2. I thought I was in love with Scott Tracy, on reflection he was a puppet.
  3. I used to like Lassie and the wooden tops and little weed on watch with mother
  4. I can understand why you didn’t like them Jill and lots of places had them. It was the vacuum noise that was so loud, simple engineering eh. They went at some pace tho.
  5. The boys will probably confirm this one but weren’t those tubes called Anson tubes? We had a system when I worked at Luton where bookings and other material was sent up to the Control Tower. When we used to get bored on a night shift we used to send all manner of things in the containers just for a laugh. They also had one in the co op in Castle Donington for the cash.
  6. I recall a road that was behind the Nottingham Night and came out onto Loughborough Rd WB
  7. I remember all those products, mum used to have a service tub washer with a mangle and my Aunt was the model for Pears soap (the face one) when she was little.
  8. Southwell is a great place to visit, beautiful old properties and go to the Workhouse there, really interesting. The cafe is good too, good old National Trust cakes.
  9. I know Graham Nash wrote it about their 2 cats. I had the original Deja Vu album. Classic.
  10. Oh what a shame, have just had to play “Our House” what great lyrics, love the “two cats in the yard”
  11. Cliff Ton, the one on the second row far right looks quite regal with her legs perfectly crossed and knee high socks.
  12. I think my earliest memory would be going to stay at my godmothers / aunt at Totley near Sheffield. Think I was pretty homesick when it was time to go to bed so she put me some china animals on the shelf to keep me safe and watch over me and left the little light on for me, bless her. She later moved to Mumby and Sutton on Sea in Lincs and I spent a lot of time with her there too. Didn’t much like her hubby though, very odd and as I grew older he was a bit of a letch and my cousin agreed with me about that too. Godmother passed away a couple of months before him and they are both buried in
  13. Sorry Beekay, maybe you are my big new bro in disguise, I had two pretty good ones who aren’t here anymore so I’ll adopt you as my new one. I used to cycle too a lot with them over the fields and take a pack up and orange squash. Loved them to bits. Take care mate.
  14. Oh thank goodness they’re ok, think we all saw this on the news. They must have been really shaken.
  15. Beekay, I was 13 in 1968 and don’t think I had ever been there before that age. Still a Tollerton lass at that point and we didn’t have a car. My dad had to go on two buses to get to Players bonded warehouse on Triumph Road. Have been looking at house prices in Tollerton today randomly, absolutely ridiculous! I can remember going to my cousins wedding in Newark, she married an Arab and there was lots of handkerchief waving as I recall. It will be nice to go back actually.
  16. Aha ok, I’ll do the rekky on a Mon, Tues or Thursday then. I don’t have any choice about the meeting in February being scheduled on a Weds. Thanks
  17. Yeah I have been to Newark many times but a good while back. My Aunty used to live in Balderton. I’ll do a Weds rekky when we get rid of this bloomin ice. thanks everyone for the info
  18. How sad am I? I have spent the entire afternoon watching series 3 and 4 of Yellowstone. I watched the first two series on Paramount and got addicted to it and now have a free trial of Paramount Plus to watch more. They’re now on series 5 and am halfway through 4 so a fair way to go. Lucky that I have been on my own all day and can chill out with Costner. What a brilliant series. Must just remember to cancel the subscription after the free trial.
  19. I have a meeting in Newark Town Hall in February at 2pm. Where would be the best place to park? Am thinking of having some lunch prior, any suggestions of good eateries?
  20. Yes thanks for posting the video, certainly emphasises my comment about sensational media headlines without including the whole context.
  21. Clifton, I saw that as well, very clever display. I have mixed views about the whole Harry debacle. I can see why he left the firm but I am also married to a 22 years in the Army veteran and what he recalls on that score publicly is definitely not acceptable. Considering they moved for privacy and more security, he hasn’t done them or indeed Invictus any favours. I did watch the Tom Brady interview and was glad I did instead of just reading the media who have just pulled out the sensational headlines without the full story behind them. I won’t be reading the book though, think it would actual
  22. Is it really Jill? Do you just rub it on the saucepan? Not that I regularly burn them, I just have one that’s a bit prone depending on what I’m cooking in it. Does it work on all saucepan types? Mrs B
  23. My brothers went to Mellish in the late 50’s early 60’s. The McDonalds.
  24. I passed the 11+ too back in the day. Onwards to WB Grammar, what a great school that was.
