In 1966 I used the 40,47 from St Ann's to the city & back to travel to school. Leyland motor buses which a few years later Were used in the driving school. 24 ATO was the bus I passed my PSV test in 1974.

Went to Mapperley Top today & had take away fish & chips on one of the benches at the Monument then spent a couple of hours in Woodthorpe Park making a fuss of a few dogs. What more could I ask for ?

The win was over thirty years ago, he had no kids & his wife had a good bank job ! He just lived for work. Nothing else mattered, incidentaly he was NCTs hiughest paid bus driver most years !
