  6. My EX-Wife lives on Querneby Rd in Mapperley, my daughter now married & has her own house lived with her mum awhile. My daughter told me stories about never seeing anything but a voice mimicing her mother's voice.at a time when only my daughter was at home. These voices got so bad she won't go back to her Mum's house anymore !

  12. All well & good tackling brakes..................BUT, having worked in the motor trade years ago I saw some right horrors where the DIY man had a go. On some cars lever the caliper pistons back & they will be destroyed. Once saw a new subframe fitted to a Mini, all fine, could'nt fault it EXCEPT he had replaced the steel brake pipes with plastic petrol pipe secured with jubilee hose clips !AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRHHHHHHHH. The bloke was quite miffed when it failed the MOT. By all means if you are capable DIYer then have a go but hey, lets be careful out there ! One further note of cautio
  13. Henry Mellors had fairs there quite often, I remember taking my kids there late 70s early 80s.
  14. Near Thurgarton. Used to visit the pub there, the Star & Garter. My old boss had a caravan down there & he also had a speedboat so they could water ski on the trent. Don't know if it's still there though, going back over 40 years !

  19. My ex brother in law worked at Coop House late seventies in the menswear department. One day he was showing leather coats to a Jamaican fella, the fella tries it on for size & promptly legged it out of the store. Following night ex bil is out on a date & is walking through slab square & see's said Jamaican wearing nice full length leather coat. Five yards away are two big policeman !
