  1. my friend mary duke lived on there two two daughters dawn and vanora in there late 30s early 40s now
  2. how old were you then vic what year my husband lived near the priory church in old lenton he is 66 next month and went to dunkirk juniors and then on to cotesmore boys scool used to walk up grove rd ever day to call for his mate pat clark we lived on grove rdand stilled there in the 1980 in the later years with his wife. as clifton sez part of grove rd is still there right side going down from the grove pub but the left side including the chip shop and bereoff came down in the 80s and was replaced by flats. it certainly looks different now on that side of the rd.

  7. hi mellisa although my usser name is piggy and babs im babs and it is ussually me on here piggy is my husband i can ussually be found at the meetups sometimes piggy comes with me sometimes not you can find a couple of pictures of me on here but i just love the weme that mickto me found for me.

  10. remember in the sixties going to stop the night with my friend on hill rd bestwood i hated walking across that bit of track day and late nights to get to and from her house it was dangerous then and even more so know with the tram if it saves just one life being lost benjimin its worth every penny in very recent years at least 3 lives gone and that not even thinking about the effects it had on train tram drivers who hit or had near misses.
  11. just read your status profile roy and it answered my question and your last comment on there i dought it very muchand what difference dose it make if you are you are what you are and it certainly makes no difference to me. think when i went to see it was very early sixties think i was still at junior school or mayby 1st year senir that was 1962on the forest definitly also remember going to billy smarts circus perhaps a little earlier than that again on free ticketsgot my arm bitten by a giraffe while going to see the animals in a tent at the end of the show bloody hurt and that was throught

  13. another usefull tip i was given when i first went was before you go is make notes of names dates you know for sure startig from your parents grand paerents ect at your age you might find some a bit easier as they may still be alive and be happy to give you information ot there parents grand parents that they may remember sit down and talk to the older members of your family if you can tape or vidieo these convesation the next generations might be interested in this in the future i only wished i had done this with my parents when i was younger.
  14. both gerry and rgr have gone missing perhaps gerryis in hospital again do hope he is ok both piggy and i have hospital apointments wednessday and thursday this week me for the results of my recent op piggy for liver scan and i got to go again on may the 8th to see a urology dr this time this isall stemming from my 2 days in hospitalin feb so its not over yet .

  19. mellisa ada henshaw was my grand mother born heanor derbyshire but lived lea st radford 1901 of couse ada was a verry common name around this timefrom what i understand the henshaws had quite a few members of the family living in radford at the time, someof my clements family also lived in radford too around this time radford was a very crowded area in that time a lot of the sts were demolished in the 60s and new housing.radford still a heavily populated area but now a very diferent population than it used to be with the exception of a few remaining old families in the area. there are as i
