  3. Bloody heck Trogg, not the best of days, hopefully things will get better and you don't have such a big bill from the garage Rog
  4. Wasn't sure if the sights were a little off yesterday so Today I set a stick out in the field (with owners permission) at 30 yards and fired ten shots of "Air Arms" field 5.52 mm then ten shots of "Webley" Accupell 5.5mm then another ten of Air Arms, don't think I'll be buying any Webley Accupells anytime soon so Air Arms field look the best, the air pressure in the R10 was at 180 bar instead of the full charge of 232 bar for scale I set a 5 pence piece at the side of each group, far left is Air Arms, middle Air Arms and the right is Webley the wood is 1.5 inch x
  5. This is the light I had on my setup this morning, although the barn is open ended and is fairly light this set with the red filter make a massive difference in illuminating the area in the rafters, really impressed with it, it can either be switched on via the button at the back of the torch or via a cable fixed to the forend of the R10, not cheap but a brilliant bit of kit Rog
  6. I do hope so Ben, Bulwell is a great place, full of friendly people and smiling faces, although I've been left for over eighteen years I always manage to bump into old friends from years ago Rog
  7. Very misty this morning with fine drizzle very refreshing so decided to take the BSA R10 for a walk around the farm yard and introduce it to a few feral pigeons anyway while I was there I noticed the farmers bicycle up ended with a flat rear tyre so when I got home I decided to nip to Newark and pick up a new innertube and called into the farmyard on my way home to sort the puncture out, halfway through fitting the new tube the farmer turned up and we proceeded to have a good old chin wag and try to solve all the worlds problems, found out though that he has only managed to harvest about half
  8. Could only be a good thing for Bulwell but do you think with more people visiting for the shops/indoor market/outdoor market etc free car parking would cease and car park charges would have the same effect on Bulwell as they have on similar small towns ie: people using out of town retail parks and forgetting about the parent town? not being negative Ben but you see it happening all over the place these days Rog
  9. John Arderne (Wetherspoons) closed in Newark, it's the building in the background Rog
  10. Decided to buy myself a new rechargeable shaver because to replace the shaver heads on my old Remington was silly money and you can get a complete new shaver for less money, anyway I went for the Panasonic wet/dry ES-RW33 and after plugging it into the charger that came with it I started to read the "operating instruction", I have attached a photo of these instructions I know kids grow up quickly these days but come on Rog
  11. As one of my old managers used to say "There is no plan, it can't go wrong then" Rog
  12. Bumble bees enjoying my Dahlias Rog
  13. Sophisticated is my middle name Barrie plus I didn't want to upstage Richard in his best armour and crown so it was shorts and baseball cap for me Rog
  14. The poor bloke had a bit of a rough deal really, crooked spine, not very good looking, lost a bit of a dust up at Bosworth, written about by some bard in not a very complementary light and portrayed in a play by Richard Burton in a strange voice, you just got to feel sorry for the guy and to top it all he had his picture taken with me Rog
  15. Richard 3rd,before he was moved again Rog
  16. Nice ride out this morning just under ten miles, blue sky and no wind, Maize fields near Thurlby River (upper) Witham Bassingham Bull carving Rog
  17. Ah, but master of none ha ha, thanks Margie, got to try and keep busy, no good sitting down all day, there's two kinds of chair that will kill you, an electric chair and an arm chair, I try to stay out of both for as long as I can each day Rog
  18. Material is 19mm pine from some old shelving, I use a powered jigsaw with a fine blade, the only patterns I have are my own design from simple pencil sketches until I got the right size, the lags are 15mm dowel and the hinges I use 3mm steel bar, for the arm hinges I use 6mm dowel with the last 15mm trimmed down to about 3mm dia leaving a 6mm top that is set into the top of the arms, paints are acrylic ontop of a light varnish and finished off with clear lacquer Rog Forgot to add, the eyes are self adhesive boggle eyes
  19. well it looks like we have just about finished with the summer (although it don't look too bad for the next few days) so it's time to look at continuing the in-shed hobbies for autumn and winter, these will be model bus conversions (different local operators) and the wooden animals, frogs, bears and gollifrogs and any other designs I can find, what's on your agenda for the coming few months? Rog
  20. I think you're right brew, it's reported more and more people are aware there are some strange people out there, shame really it only takes one strange person to get everyone else tarred with the same brush Rog
  21. I think that is what is called "walking on thin ice" Barrie Rog
  22. I tried Craven "A", Black Cat and finished on Marlboro until I saw sense about twenty years ago, instead of smoking now I just smoulder in me shed Rog
