Mick, the building you mentioned was some type of exhibition centre. It was also known as Sandfield House and used as Law Courts. It is now the Volunteer centre.

The Wollaton (ex Willoughby) is a very nice pub. I was in there Friday afternoon, plenty of choice on beer and food is excellent.

Asda covered car park is free to customers but you only get 2 hours. I think it's 60p minimum to park in public car park, no wonder the big supermarkets are doing well.

Stu, i heard that the Robin Hood in Arnold was now closed. As you mentioned earlier about the parking charges, shops in Mapperley and Carlton are suffering. Arnold used to be a nice shopping area before they "improved" it.

Hi Norma, i lived on Glebe st from 63 til 71. There used to be a Malik family lived on Orange st, Cliftons on Bell Terrace, i could name quite a few off Bunbury st. Ashley, the club would have been on Wilford Crescent, some type of strip club late sixties. Mick will remember the name, mentioned on here before. (did you get my PM ) Den. Carousel Club ?
