  1. My tick boxes are not blue. They are all white. Just some can't be ticked
  2. #52 Same here. I can tick the 'notify me by email' box but not the other. I used to get the other but it just disappeared on its own a long time ago.
  3. I don't get this notification either. I can use the 'like this' button though. The only notification I get if someone has 'liked' one of my posts is an email.
  4. AN68's were 'orrid. I have never been inflicted with Daimler Fleetlines but I understand that they were even worse!
  5. Leyland PD2 that I did my PSV in had vacuum brakes! That's not the same as air brakes
  6. Wasn't a Dennis Lowline just a re-badged Bristol? Dished up as a Dennis so as to make them available to non-Tilling group companies.
  7. If the Clipstone Flyer is still running it would be Stagecoach now.
  8. Thanks for that Dave @ #13. You have given me more info there than I had before. I assume the Prince I am half related to is not related to you . In order, my Grandfather Florence Rose was born Florence Rose Cooper married John Henry Lakin Dec. 1915. She was widowed July 1916. Married Charles Stanley Prince senior 1916 or 17, Charles Stanley junior born 1917. She was widowed again 1918. She married my Fathers Father Edward Harvey in 1919. She was widowed again in 1942. I don't have any of the addresses that you have given apart from 10 Derwent Street and that is on the 1911 census. That must
  9. Dave. Mentioned this before and hope I didn't put my proverbial foot in it as you went away for a while after I mentioned it to you. I was wondering if you were any relation to my Fathers half brother. He was Charles Stanley Prince but known as Stan, born 1917. He would have become Stan Harvey before he was a year old as his mother (My Grandmother) married my grandfather Edward Harvey. Stans Dad was also Charles Stanley Prince. Possibly originated from Medders but I knew Stan at Bracebridge Drive. Just curious really.
  10. I find Ancestry hard work. I finally stopped using when looking for my 2x Great Grandfather who was born at Newark. On trying to type Newark in the box a load of pop downs appears and every Newark in the USA appears. Newark, Notts doesn't exist and couldn't override the popdowns so I thought stuff it.
  11. B8 was a 141 when I used to drive them. But however from memory (which is fading) Out of Mansfield bus station, up Southwell Road(?) to Rainworth, Turn right into Blidworth and on to Ravenshead. Left at Larch Farm onto A60. Turn right down into Papplewick (Griffins Head). Turn right onto Linby. Turn left at Annesley Road and on into Hucknall. Now this is a bit vague and I can't remember if I am exactly right but in Hucknall it must have turned left at Lord Byron and proceeded down Papplewick Lane, turning right at the bottom end and proceeding through Bestwood Village, turning left at Moor B
  12. My grandmothers first husband was injured on the first day of the Somme. He was shipped back home and died of his injuries later in July 1916. He is no relation to me whatsoever but the fact that he was my grandmothers first husband does seem to make me interested in him. If he had turned out to be my grandfather I would be a completely different person I suppose. I guess I would only have been about 5' tall. He was a Bantam in Notts & Derby Regiment Sherwood Foresters, so was under 5' 3". My grandmother was only about 4' 11". He is buried in General Cemetery - somewhere!
  13. If he was an armament inspector he was probably at the ROF. Royal Ordnance Factory.
  14. We never had a lot of money but I must say my mother wouldn't touch margarine with a barge pole. It had to be butter. I think it was something to do with her childhood days when all she ever got was the cheapest margarine or nothing at all!
  15. I really don't think that is an issue. My Father was the baby of three and two of the three look the same ie like their dad!
  16. Below is my Fathers birth certificate. It seems to be missing quite a lot of information. Is it a replacement or something?
  17. I just wonder now how many of those lock gates my grandfather built and maintained!
  18. I am assuming that the canal that runs up the left hand side of the picture is the one that comes out at the side of The Crown.
  19. I vaguely remember the opening scene you are talking about but I can only come up with this one again. It is Secret Agent. Its not American though. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058846/ I remember Callan, but that was Edward Woodwardwood-wood, and there was Private Eye but that was Alfred Burke.
  20. 21. It means 250 employees in the entire company. Greggs must employ a lot more than 250 people.
  22. You only have to pay for bags if the company employs more than 250 people.
