Not New to the forum but looking for friends
The Pianoman replied to BMR Brian's topic in Welcome messages to new members
I'm just down the road from you at Eastwood but like BK I'm no lady. I'm also 66 and quite happy to communicate. -
Can you save your findings to flash memory card or similar?

Yes I've been doing mine myself. Fortunately there's none on top. I can only guess that the attempts I made weren't too bad. I never saw anyone laughing

Aah good, I need a haircut. I had noticed that my regular barber is no longer wearing a mask.

I seem to have more of a Nottingham accent when I am with other Nottingham-ites! I spose its cuz I know everybody ull no woram talking' abaht midducks. Although I have lived at Eastwood a long time I have never absorbed the place. It's just a convenient place to live.

My first car was 75 ETV. Wish I'd still got that. The registration still exists but I doubt that the car does.

Nothing new about them is there. I've got a few in my past.

That's a fairly recent picture. it was Marshall-Rowell. The people that actually own them are Marshalls. The shop with yellow next door is now Specsavers.

That's the one!

Stapleford one is still there. It is very quaint but not as much so as Long Eaton was. There is one in Eastwood too but that one I would just describe as odd.

That drapers shop was Rowells. It still looked as though it was still in the 1920's when it closed a couple of years ago

Best think ever invented for the kitchen! I know someone else that had one catch fire though consequently I rarely use mine and then go out.

I believe 578 pictured is the second 6 wheeler in line for preservation at Sandtoft.

OTV 161 at Ruddington. My picture. I used to drive this Olympian in my Trent days. Its also at Ruddington. Perhaps I should be in a museum as well

The guy that does Secrets of the London Underground on Yesterday - everything is 'extraordinary' even if it is something simple.

Thanks. That's Underwood garage in the photo

It's the time of year. Some find January the most depressing month, for me it's February.

Yes. I remember in an interview on the tele when he first got in with Meghan his words were something like "I know it looks like history repeating itself". The idea should be to learn from history - ie don't do it!

I think it is high time all the people who complained about Jeremy Clarkson's now well know comments should give him a public apology!

Still do.

That's interesting. Things must have changed between you doing your PSV and me doing mine. I did mine (I think) 1990 and my instructor had me going along Awsworth Lane, Cossall, running towards Coronation Road when he hollered at me "what did it say on that sign?" Me "what sign?" I wont go on 'cos there was loads of questions but suffice to say it was (and still is) a low bridge sign. He continued - "How high is this bus?" (ex Salford City Transport, Metro-Cammell bodied 1967 Leyland PD2) Easy I thought big sign above windscreen "14ft 6"" says I. "And what is the minimum clearance required?" s

MGO and Trent buses had them as well. What you did if sitting on the front seat upstairs was to put something on the top of it so Mr Driver couldn't see. -

My memories of the interiors are the same as BK. Cream downstairs and cream upstairs with an added brown hue.
