  1. It seems to me that there were three buildings in that area that shouldn't have been demolished - Trinity Church, Mechanics Institute and Victoria Station!
  2. Well you learn something everyday. Now I know why it is Trinity Square!
  3. Happy New Year everyone. I've only just got up (again)!
  4. I often wonder where she parks her broom! But perhaps she uses the tram.
  5. I wonder if your Grandad knew my Grandad that might have been. He was a Bantam in the Sherwood Foresters. Died July 1916 as a result of injuries received on the first day of the Somme.
  6. Front wheel drive cars are better in the snow - back wheel drive cars are more fun!
  7. That is the second picture you have put on here that looks a bit familiar to me. Kimberley/Watnall/Nuthall??
  8. When we first moved to Eastwood, and for a fair length of time afterwards we used to have to go to Rock House to pay the Rates. I wasn't very old and I still remember they a high counter that was so high I couldn't see over it. And it was high by anybody's standards
  9. Just started snowing in Eastwood and its settling. Obviously the Derbyshire-ites have sent it over the border into Notts !
  10. Had a guest flying around. It was only just managing to fly but was surprised to see it in December. Sorry, rubbish picture - not enough light.
  11. Isn't telly always crap over the Christmas period?
  12. It might have been where Jack Brentnall started out. I remember the shop well enough and I have trying to think what the shops name was since the thread started 'cos I should know. I have gone blank on it - its me age yer 'no!
  13. Poorest and most run down place I have ever been to is Barrow in Furness. Thought we had better get out of the place quick but first nipped into the local Co-op for cans of Guinness. They didn't even bother emptying produce out of the boxes to stack on the shelves. They just opened the box and shoved it on the shelf without emptying it.
  14. Hmm. All three. Prefer watching paint dry!
  15. My Father worked there. Would need to think about it a bit before I could give you dates
  16. Just been on Gumtree. Works 10 times quicker without any ads.
  17. Using Enigma1st's technique of Chrome Extensions I have just added Adblocker for YouTube. It works a treat
  18. Just set it up using Enigma1st method above. Brilliant. Went to Post website and it swallowed 2 dozen adverts straight away.
  19. As I also said in the other post I downloaded it and got trouble. I downloaded it from CNet that I have used many times without problems. DO NOT download Adblocker from CNet as it is obviously riddled with problems. I may well have another go using Catfans link.
  20. I downloaded it and got even more popups on every site I went to. Ended up uninstalling it together with all the other crap that came with it
