#13.........The hospital on Hucknall rd as per the map,i grew up on Andover rd (shown) and the hospital we knew as Basford sanitorium' it was part of my paper round,i used to throw the papers thru open windows,it was a TB hospital and my mother worked there.

Poor old 'terence' everybody wants to slap him,lol.

Checked with my younger brother about a paul Raynor at the Park Tavern and he also remembered a Dave and Bruce being regulars there,so it seems your Basford ancesters def. left their stamp on the area. lol.

I REMEMBER the ' Hucknall air displays' Brian,on bank holidays in the 50s,when we used to picnic on Bulwell Common or Bulwell Hall Park.,for a great view.

BF,...I did consider this and even put it to the vote a little while back after it was rumbled i'm not EXACTLY like him,.............the result was overwelming in favour of keeping him,(well carnie wanted me to anyway) so you see BF I would'nt upset 'carnie' for the world.sorry mate.

They are def. the ones 'hippo girl' Paula a scouser,,and yes they still together ,last met with em both 'boxing day' 013 ,Typical Trev invited me and Donna to his birthday party at the 'coach and horses' Parliament st,............he had told me there would be lots of our old mates there,............on arrival there was Trev the DJ PLAYING LOTS OF CRAP MUSIC,.........and no sign of any old mates.....still had a good session though .......and yes girl its a small world.

Hippo girl think thats him,i was at school with him,still bump into him,he was/is some character and when i last saw him was still DJ (couple of years ago) ex doorman and very extrovert,usually only see him at 'funerals' and reunions now but always have a good laugh,he still lives in Basford.

Would that be 'Big Woody' from Bestwood 'hippo girl' ?

Funny that Michael,i was in the 'five ways' when i got the message my first wife had been taken into City hospital for the birth of my 1st,monday 8th jan 1968,i even left my pint.

Anyway bearing in mind the title of this topic im hoping its not true,cos i'm off to the Sun' in the morning,so try not to 'fret' at my lack of postings for a couple of weeks....lol.

Ann,.........carnie's met me,and was prob.dissapointed (only a bit lol)...........but it wore off after a couple of drinks,..
