  1. Didn't Skills have a place at the bottom of Derby Road almost opposite The Albert Hotel? I think at one side of the area was the magic shop "Sign of Four"

  4. Yes you're right Cliff Ton. I remember on the opposite corner to the Capitol was a sweet shop which over the years became a B & O shop but I don't know what it is thses days.
  5. The bus presumably would have gone to the top of Churchfield Lane and then turned left at the top to go down St Peter's Gate to Skills' depot
  6. Another 'toy' I remember and used to "play" with a lot was a Phillips Tape Recorder (4 track) when I was about 13 - still got it somewhere!

  10. Yes Hopewells was at the corner of Parliament Street and Milton Street with a further shop on the opposite side of the road on Parliament Street

  20. As you say your wife has a lot to go through but she's got the support not only from the hospital but more importantly from the one that loves her - YOU!
  21. I saw someone a few weeks ago that was pushing a young child in a pushchair with one hand and in the other hand she was holding a mobile looking down at it - presumably playing a game, She was obviously not looking where she was going and could quite easily have had an accident.
  22. Just a reminder that "Back To... " is the 80s tonight BBC 2 8pm. It includes gadgets sych as microwaves and also pre-packed sandwiches and new foods that invaded the supermarkets.
  23. I think, like smoking was some years ago, mobiles should be banned from buses! If someone can't last a short time without using a mobile phone it's very sad.
