The most annoying advert ever GO COMPARE

Slightly off topic but remember the white foam disc, same size as the AS tablet, in the top of the Alka Seltzer container in the early days : - and the number of people who thought it was an Alka Selt

Every time I hear it on Talksport Radio I just have to join in "Checker trade checker trade dot com"

Bears are always right, Fox's glacier mints.

The Pint that thinks it's a quart.

Whitbread Tankard

or was it ti* bread W******

It was Trophy Bitter. At the British Rail Engineering Ltd headquarters in Derby I had a boss who invented nicknames for many of the staff (especially the higher management). There was a high flying engineering manager (really a very nice chap) who measured about 5 foot 2 in platform soles. His nickname was "Trophy Bitter (the pint that thinks it's a quart)."

[A garrulous computer development manager was "High Speed Gas"; the commercial director who was always a picture of sartorial elegance was "Captain Peacock", while one of the personnel managers, who spent a lot of time communing with the director of human remains - sorry, human resources - was "The Angel Gabriel (who sits at the right hand of the Almighty)". Others included Cairo Kate, Beanpole, Admiral Jack, Slack Alice, Screaming Lord Such, The Ancient Monument, and a particularly loud-voiced works manager who was simply "Paisley". - I'm hard pressed to remember their real names.]
