sue B 48 1,226
Obviously 'Gray Goose' in Gedling. Live bands, dancing all-night and making one Gin and Orange last all night. Also 'Bodega' with a few work mates. There were quite a few we would never go in, can't remember name's.

.... 23
From years gone by... The White Hart - (Daybrook). Livelier than any town pub in its day and less than five minutes walk for me. The Bell Inn. The first pub I ever set foot in, in the Elizabethan bar. Still particularly like that room. Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem. A unique pub and many fondly remembered, happy student days in there with my pals. (Hon mention to The Tavern in the Town). Nowadays... The Lincolnshire Poacher The Bell Inn The Malt Cross Three pubs I could never take to... The Fox - (Parliament Street) The Exchange The Fountain

LizzieM 9,509
Meant in jest, as you well know Bubblewrap. Thought you'd be out visiting your regular haunts today though. Pleased to see you have Doctors Orders on your fave list too.
Bubblewrap 3,815
Went to Lincoln today looking for a Harris Tweed jacket but the shop didn't have the colour/fabric I wanted (grey salt & pepper.) Gave the pubs a miss but I usually visit The Golden Eagle(Castle Rock)

BilboroughShirley 1,120
In 1967 I did not like the Hand and Heart on Derby Road. The reason: it was so cold in the caves at the back! These days I would be interested in the history of the caves and I would have a big sweater on! Tastes change.
Bubblewrap 3,815
I think The Hand & Heart is a bit like Dr Who's TARDIS looks quite small from the outside But wait till you get inside And the beer is always well kept too. :jumping:
Bubblewrap 3,815
#22 I've found The Bell OK at lunch time & they usually have one of my all time favourite beers on Titanic Plum Porter. BTW I only drink in Nottingham at lunch times anyway & I tend not to drink in pubs in Loughborough of an evening either.
