  1. The reason vehicle information can be made available is because technically it isn't personal data. The information is that a car was there, not who the driver was.
  2. I'm in Basel should anyone care. I'm going to have a great night regardless of the result, Remind me again when Fores were last in a European final, BTW there's a dinner this Friday for the Roy Stone Foundation arranged in conjunction with Andy Hallam. They have Des Walker gving a talk.
  3. When I ran our allotment shop I used to stock 25lt drums of paraffin for the guys who heated their greenhouses. I remember one of the guys bought a stupidly large and expensive greenhouse heater from us but never used it in case it got nicked. It's probably still 'as new' to this day but boy was he proud to own it.
  4. I agree that there are many educated idiots but I'm never sure why people wear their lack of education as a badge of honour. It's not really something to boast about, quite often it's a real shame as many clever people weren't given the chance of a decent education. I'd still want my doctor to have stayed in education beyond the age of 15 though. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  5. What isp are those who are having problems on? Lately I've had intermittent problems with a number of sites. I'm on Virgin and I don't have the same problems if I use my laptop elsewhere. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
  6. The problem is that unless you stand on a political footing, many people won't vote for you as the majority of votes gathered will be to parties rather than people. You're also less likely to get votes if you stand as an' unofficia'l Labour/Tory. So you get the situation where, whatever your beliefs, Paddy Tipping is already taking up the Labour slot so in order to get votes you'd need to get yourself onto the Tory ticket. For that reason it should not be allowed to campaign on a political ticket as it gives too much advantage to whoever a parrty supports. Tony Harper and his twin brother are
  7. Tbh, it was always worth waiting as had you done it earlier, it's quite possible you wouldn't have had as good an upgrade. I tried it on my i7 HP DV7 (so not exactly old technology) only to find that Windows 10 didn't work properly with my graphics card such that the HDMI output wouldn't work. It was, at that time, a known issue apparently. I only found out when I went to link my laptop to a TV screen for karaoke and got nothing. Sadly, rolling back to Windows 7 didn't go properly either (a common problem) so I had to perform a fresh install.
  8. I was warning our plot holders back in 2005. The problem is that it's used on grass so the livestock farmer doesn't know if it's in the feed unless they're organic. It is known to stunt beans and potatoes. If you can, get spent hops instead. They're far more plentiful now and better for the soil than manure.
  9. I'll repost this to accentuate just how relevant the venue was. Please read to the end. In a ridiculous, and potentially near fatal decision it was decided to award the Leppings Lane end to the ********* supporters, despite their overwhelming greater support. I entered the ********* end around 2pm and found my way to the left hand side (as the TV cameras look) and several minutes later soon became tight against a barrier. More and more fans entered and just before kick-off it was apparent that the severe crushing was likely to cause the barriers to give way and all those at the front would b
  10. I appreciate you weren't implying anything, giving the larger end to the smaller fanbase was always likely to cause problems though.
  11. Which could be amusing as if you check any Forest forum. it's full of people claiming they walked past the Leppings Lane end HALF AN HOUR BEFORE and it was full of drunk Liverpoool fans begging for tickets, even though they were still available at Anfield the day before. So geography caused all these deaths and not incompetence? Now why, in 2 years and 475,000 pages of inquest was that never shown to be the real problem? The ground itself had been opposed on safety grounds and Man Utd had offered to stand in but been refused by the FA as they'd already committed to Hillsborough. and traffic 'c
  12. Because you can normally get tickets from touts at big games. There were almost certainly Forest fans who arrived without tickets too and bought them outside the ground although that was easy as they had the bigger end despite having fewer fans There isn't a shred of evidence that ticketless fans got in. It was a kneejerk lie by the police. Proven to be a fantasy,
  13. radfordred. i would love to have a pint with you some time.
  14. I deliberately didn't bump this thread because I noticed that even today on Forest forums there were morons still trying to blame it on late, drunk ticketless fans. At last, the truth (which some of us have known for nearly 3 decades). Thanks to South Yorkshire police ignoring the judges instructions to make the inquiry non-adversarial it took 2 years of enquiryfor the truth to come out. Way to go SYP. Only today have you accepted it was nothing yo do with the fans. Many on the various Forest forums realised the degree of deceit that blamed fans. Still today there are people who won't accept t
  15. I can tell you how to make gluten free batter if that helps. Here's the science bit Gluten develops when two wheat proteins in flour, glutenin and gliadin, are mixed with water. Because parts of these proteins do not like to interact with water, the proteins begin to stick to each other much in the same way oil droplets come together when suspended in water. As a flour-water dough is mixed, the glutenin and gliadin molecules interact to form an extensive elastic network So you make your batter/pastry/pasta/bread with vodka instead of water. Just be sure to use a non-wheat based vodka.
  16. The problem with depression is that deep down it's seen as the sign of a mentally weak and lesser person. It's something that many will feel they are too strong to ever succumb to. Sadly ( in a way) that's not the case. It's very similar to cancer, in that some people can be more genetically pre-disposed to get it but none of us are immune. The chemical imbalances that seem to be at the root of clinical depression are just as much a physical malady as a broken leg, it's just not as visible. If we were as embarrassed about people knowing we had a malfunctioning liver as we are about having a ma
  17. He has indeed. One of the guitars Roy used was given him by Tony. It was the one he used on TOTP when he played with Olive on 'You're Not Alone'. Tony's son Troy is 14 and in a band called Black Rose Garden.
  18. Yes. Doggen is his brother and is also a mate of mine. They were both in a band called Perfomance together with Kev Bales (now of spiritualized too) back in the 90's. Roy is singing and you'll recognise Tony
  19. A close friend of mine, and well known local singer Roy Foster (Stage name Roy Stone) from Bestwood killed himself last year while depressed. A number of us are involved in raising money for awareness of depression. https://www.facebook.com/events/1681512565470872/
  20. As I thought re Piemonte Barbera then. I mostly tend towards softer wines for every day hence my preference for D'Alba. For special occasions I veer towards Valpolicellas, however, particularly Ripassos and Amarones. Whilst Barolos are amazing, Amarones just beat them imho.
  21. I suspect that the designation 'Piemonte Barbera' is used for wine that hasn't reached the standard expected for D'Alba etc. I can find lots of wine called just 'Piedmont Barbera' here and it's generally lower ABV than the D'Alba or the D'Asti.
  22. I should have explained that the Piemonte Barbera ( as named on the bottle) was a 12% whereas the Alba was 13.5%. I'm well aware of the differences between Barbera D'Alba, D'Asti and del Monferrato and that Barbera is not solely a Piedmont wine, it's a grape which is grown in other regions as well and Barbera can be bought from South America and Australia as well as Italy. This particular vineyard produces 2 bottles, Barbera D'Alba and Piemonte Barbera.
  23. Last time I was in the area I visited Palazzo Rosso in Pocapaglia and bought a case of Barbera D'Alba. I prefer it to Piemonte Barbera. I also bought some Barbaresco, Nebbiolo D'Alba and Barolo. It's a lovely family run business.
  24. The rising sea level theory is based on ice that is currently above the sea melting and hence raising the level. There is a lot of untruths and obfuscation out there to prove that it's happening and it doesn't lend credibility to the theory. We've already survived certain nuclear holocaust and a mini-ice age if the scientists had been right as I grew up so I guess we'll outlive this scare too. Maybe if global warming is disastrous enough we'll have as many vineyards in the South of England as in Roman times.
  25. He worked at Lowdham Grange in the late 70's and I had many a drink with him as I knew some of the other officers there through rugby. You would never have guessed he had been a footballer as he seemed too middle class.
